The White House

8pm

This was it, after a year of hard campaigning it came down to tonight. Jack was on edge the tension had been rising all day and he’d escaped to the Oval Office to catch up on some paperwork.

He was sitting writing when there was a knock at the door. Mrs Lincoln poked her head in. “Mr President?”

“Yeah?”

“I have a visitor for you.”

“Who?” Jack asked.

“Miss Caroline Kennedy.”

Jack immediately sat back and took his glasses off. “Send her in.”

After Caroline had come rushing in, Mrs Lincoln closed the door. “Hiya buttons.”

“Hi Daddy.” Caroline said climbing on to his knee.

“Why are you not in bed?”

“Mummy said I could stay up since tonight was important.”

Jack grinned and rubbed her back. He was about to say something when the door burst open. Kenny ran in, he couldn’t stay still he was jumping up and down and had a huge smile of his face. “Kenny is everything alright? You seem a little happy.”

“You won Massachusetts!” Kenny exclaimed.

Jack stood up and held Caroline in his arms. He kissed her cheek before going to hug Kenny.

Once Jack and Caroline were alone again they hugged. “We’re nearly there Caroline.”

“You can do it Daddy.”

Jack grinned. “You should go upstairs; things are going to get busy.”

“Ok.”

Jack watched as his daughter skipped out of the Oval. He then went back to work.

The Oval Office

Jack was sitting fidgeting he wanted to know. His tie was hanging round his neck and he’d taken his suit jacket off.

He was leaning back in his chair easing his back when the door opened and clicked shut quickly. He looked up to find Jackie walking towards him. “I thought you could use a stiff drink.” Jackie said handing him a whisky.
