The Front of the Boston Hotel

Jack and Jackie emerged holding hands towards the podium. A lot of press had gathered to find out what the President was about to announce. “Good Afternoon.”

“Last night my wife experienced pains in her stomach, after a visit to hospital it turns out we are expecting another child in September. I would really appreciate it if you gave Mrs Kennedy the privacy she wants during the remainder of her pregnancy. I promise you when the newest Kennedy arrives you will meet him or her, thank you.”

Jack guided Jackie down to the car and helped her in. “Well they know.”

Jackie nodded.

“I don’t want you doing too much, I was thinking maybe after the debates you should rest either at the Cape or the White House.”

“I want to be with you.” Jackie said cuddling into him.

“I know but I’ll try and be home as much as I can.”

“Ok.”

When the First Couple arrived at the Hall to give a speech Jackie began being quizzed by reporters on the latest announcement. “Mrs Kennedy your five months pregnant and didn’t know?”

“Yes that’s correct, apparently it can happen.”

“How are you feeling?”

“I feel fine thank you.”

“Do you hope it’s a boy or a girl?”

Jackie hesitated. “I really don’t mind as long as it’s healthy.”

“How did the President react?”

“He was extremely happy; he’s a great father to Caroline and John.”

“Mrs Kennedy was this a campaign stunt?”

Jackie laughed. “Hell no, I was as shocked as you are now last night.” Jackie said.

“JACKIE!” Jack yelled.

“Oh sorry.” Jackie smiled as she quickly caught up with him. She took his hand and they headed into the hall. It was packed.
