Driving Lesson

Maya's POV

When I woke up this morning Riley was still sleeping and I didn't want to wake her. I walked into the kitchen where Lucas was making something.

"Hey," I said.

Lucas turned around, "Hi did you sleep well last night?"

"Yeah I was really tired after yesterday," I said jumped up on the counter.

"Yeah same," Lucas said not really paying attention to me.

"Lucas what are you doing?"

"Well today I'm taking you out for a driving lesson."

"Really!"

"Yup so go get changed while I finish up with this."

I jumped down from the counter and went up stairs to my room. Riley was still sleeping so I wanted to be careful not to wake her up. I quickly put on Jean shorts and a t-shirt and ran back down stairs to the kitchen.

"Ready to go?" I asked.

"Yeah just let me write a note to your dad telling him where we are," Lucas said picking up a piece of paper and writing on it.

"Okay I'm going to wait in the car," I said walking out to the car.

I sat in the passenger seat and waited for Lucas to come out. He came out and put something in the trunk of my dad's car then hopped into the front seat.

"Alright let's go," Lucas said pulling out of the driveway.

Lucas drove us both to some empty lot and switched seats with me. For the first hour or so it was mainly Lucas yelling at me about how terrible I was but then I was able to get the hang of it. He even let me drive on some back road.

"Okay I want you to make a left here," Lucas said pointing left.

"Okay," I said turning let.

"Now turn right," Lucas said.

"Okay," I turned right.

"Now right again," Lucas said.

"Where are we going?"

"Don't ask just do. Now make one more left in a couple feet."

"Okay."

I made the finally left and pulled up to a lake. It was so beautiful with the waterfall and how a rainbow formed at the bottom.

"What are we doing here?" I asked getting out of the car.

"We are having a picnic," Lucas said pulling a basket out of the truck.

"Noway!" I yelled.

"Yes way now let's go," Lucas said pointing to tree that we then walked over to and sat down at.

"What did you pack?" I asked.

"I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches," Lucas smiled pulling out two sandwiches, "your favorite."

I blushed, "How did you know?"

"I pay attention," Lucas said handing me a sandwich.

"Let's see how well you pay attention then."

"Go for it I can get everything right."

"Okay then first question how tall am I?"

"Easy 5'2."

"How tall are you?"

"6'2."

"What color are my eyes?"

"Blue."

"What dress did I buy yesterday?"

"That red one."

"What stuffed animal did you win me last night?"

"The cheetah and yes it's your favorite animal."

"Dang you do pay attention."

Lucas POV

"Okay my turn. What's my favorite color?" I asked laying down.

"Red," Maya said also laying down.

"What is my favorite season?"

"Fall."

"Why?"

"You like how the leaves change colors and how it gets cold out."

"Favorite food."

"Tacos."

"Your pretty good at this too," I said sitting up.

"I pay attention a lot more than you would think," Maya said.

"Yeah you do," I said.

"Okay I have one more for you," Maya said turning towards me.

"Go for it," I said.

"What do you like about me?"

She went right for it, "I like how you draw whatever you want even if people tell you it's wrong. I like the way you act all sassy but inside you have this giant heart that cares about everyone. I like how crazy you drive me over little things. I like how you will stay up all night talking to me about anything. And I like how I can always tell what your thinking just by looking into your eyes."

Maya blushed, "What am I thinking?"

"You are thinking wow does this guy get me or what," I said.

Maya's POV

"You are thinking wow does this guy get me or what," Lucas said smiling.

I blushed again, "Anything else?"

"You have also been wanting to kiss me for a while now," Lucas smiled.
