the unresponsive episodes are called catatonia? catatonic? something along the lines of that, and when we looked it up it turns out this is usually a sign of a bigger physical or psychological problem so

and marshmello? the puppy we were finally going to get? was sick, so we gave her back so she could get better and then we'd get her back again, but it turned out she got a lifelong disease that basically meant she'd throw up almost every day for the rest of her life and she'd have other problems too
so the lady we were going to get her from and the vet put her down
at least we got to spend one day with her
i really wish we could've gotten more time with her though, or at least got to say goodbye
