Chapter 1: Just a Regular Day at School

- Takami's POV - 

ZzZzZzZzZzZz

Alarm Rings

I slowly opened my eyes while the sunlight was shining on my face. I got up, made the bed, and walked down the hall. 

"Kenta, wake up!" I went inside my younger brother's room. 

"Shut up! I'm awake!" Kenta got out of bed and walked past me. 

"Don't try to be a smarta**!" I followed him as he slammed the bathroom door. 

"What's with all the noise?" My mom walked up the stairs. 

"Kenta..." I rolled my eyes. 

"Kenta, hurry up. I have to go to work." My mom said faintly as I walked back into my room. 

I took out my school uniform from my closet and accidentally knocked over a picture frame. I picked it up and looked at it. It was a photo of me and a guy when I was younger. "It's been about 5 years, huh, Akihiro." I quickly put it back on my desk and headed for school. "Bye, Mom!" I closed the door and looked ahead. 

"You ready?" Sachie took out her phone while waiting for me. 

"Yeah." 

"Did you do the homework?" She smiled. 

"Yeah, why?" I asked. 

"You know why. Hehe." 

At School Entrance

"Oh my god! They're here!" A group of guys yelled at the front entrance. "Takami and Sachie!" All of their eyes turned into hearts. 

"Hey, guys! How are ya!" Sachie jumped with excitement while her fist was in the air. 

"Good!" The guys put their fists in the air as well. "We love you, Sachie!" 

Sachie giggled. "Thank you!" 

As I walked past the group of guys, another group came along. "Good morning, Takami! How are you today?" They stood up straight, trying not to make eye contact with me. 

"Good, thank you." I smiled gently as I walked past them. 

All their faces were bright red with smoke coming out of their heads. 

"Takami! Wait up!" Sachie ran after me. "Why are you in a rush?" 

I took off my shoes and put them in my shoe locker. "Don't you need my homework?" I smiled while putting on my school shoes. 

"Oh right!" She quickly took off her shoes and put on her school shoes. "Let's go!" 

"You should really start to do your homework at home." I smiled as we walked down the hall. 

"But I don't have time! I have work to do as well." Sachie ran to our classroom. "Come on, Takami!" 

Junto and Mayako walked in the opposite direction. "Hey! No running in the hallways!" Mayako yelled as Sachie ran past her. She looked down and sighed. "Why does no one listen to me..." 

"Junto..." I smiled while holding my school bag in my hands. 

"How dare you call him Junto! It's Student Council President!" Mayako walked up to my face. 

"Oh, sorry, Mayako." 

"It's Vice Student Council President to you!" She continued to spit in my face. 

"You don't have to be so demanding, you know," Junto said. 

"But Student Council President...." 

Junto looked at me and smiled. "So how are you, Takami?" 

"Good... um... I gotta go to class." I quickly walked past him without making any eye contact. 

I opened the classroom doors and put my school bag on my desk near the window. 

"You talked to Junto this morning, didn't you?" Sachie smirked as she leaned closer to my face. 

I looked to the side. "Yeah..." 

"So did you reconsider?" 

Yesterday Afternoon 

At the Back of the School

"Will you go out with me, Takami?" Junto smiled. 

I looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm ready to be in a relationship." 

Junto's hair covered his eyes. "It's okay, I'll wait. No matter how long it takes because... you're the reason why I smile every morning." 

Back to the Present

I blushed and covered my face. "I can't believe he said that to me, especially with the sun right behind him." 

"Sounds like you like him." Sachie backed away from my face. 

"It's normal to feel embarrassed when you're being confessed to." 

Sachie sat on the desk in front of mine. "It's such a shame. Almost every girl in school wants to go out with him and for you to turn him down. Damn." 

"He is handsome but I just don't see him that way." 

Sachie sighed. "I know I'll be happy if he asks me out..." 

I frowned. "Sorry, Sachie, I know you've liked him for years." 

"It's okay. I just have to work harder!" She smiled.  

I smiled as well. "Mhm." 

"Oh yeah, didn't you used to like someone?" 

"Really? Who?" The boys in my class surrounded me. 

"I mean it's not a big deal." 

"Who..." The boys came close to me as their eyes turned to stars. 

"It's not like you guys know him... but... Akihiro Kaneko." 

"Okay, class! Get in your seats!" Ms. Ono walked into the room. 

"Oh no! I forgot to copy the homework!!!" Sachie yelled. 

I awkwardly giggled and sweat-dropped.

At the Train Station

You have arrived at Hakata Station. 

I headed out of the station and looked around. "It's been a while."
