Chapter 6: Our Encounter Pt. 2

At the Park

"Wow, so this is what it feels to be inside a park." Akihiro's eyes sparkled.

I sweat-dropped. "I feel like your garden is prettier though."

"Yeah, but this is more fun!" Akihiro ran around the park in excitement. He suddenly stopped and looked at the basketball court. "Oooh, what is he playing?" He asked.

I walked up to him. "Basketball. I don't know much but I know you throw a ball." We entered the court and saw Haru playing by himself. "Hey, Haru!"

He stopped playing and looked over in our direction. "Hey, who's the guy?"

"This is Akihiro Kaneko, a new friend of mine."

Akihiro bowed down. "It's nice to meet you."

Haru held the ball with his arm. "There's no need to be formal. So you know how to play?"

Akihiro looked at both of us confused. "Um... no."

I stepped over to the side of the fence and looked at both of them playing basketball. I'm glad Akihiro is getting along with Haru so well.

20 minutes later...

Haru walked over to me while Akihiro continued to play.

"Thanks for teaching him how to play basketball, Haru."

"No problem. Looks like he's having fun." He slightly smiled.

"Woo, you made a new friend." I smiled.

"What? What you mean?" He asked.

"Usually, in class, you just talk to Junto. I'm glad you made a new friend."

He looked to the side. "Pffft, I'm not that antisocial." Haru walked away and continued to play basketball with Akihiro.

I looked up at the sky. "Damn, it's getting pretty late. Haru! Akihiro! I'm gonna go now!"

Akihiro looked back. "Wait up! I'll see you later," He said to Haru. "Takami, let's come here again tomorrow."

I smiled. "Sure, why not."

The Next Day

I looked through the gate and saw Akihiro examining the flowers in the garden. "Hey, Akihiro!"

Akihiro looked at me and smiled. "Hey, Takami!" He ran toward my direction.

"You ready?" I asked.

"Yeah." He went through the gates and grabbed my hand. "I can't wait!"

At the Park

"You guys back here again?" Haru asked.

"Yeah, I still want to learn more!" Akihiro grabbed the ball and shot the ball.

"What are you gonna do at the park?" Haru asked me.

"Me? Well..." I started to think.

"You wanna play, don't ya?" Haru smirked.

"What! No!" I panicked.

"Hey, Aki! Throw the ball over here!" He yelled.
