Chapter 41: Welcome Back, Aki

- Takami's POV -

ZzZzZzZzZzZz

Alarm Rings

I turned off the alarm and opened my eyes. The sunlight was shining in my face so I quickly got up from the bed and made it. I yawned and headed for the bathroom. Once I was in front of the bathroom, I held onto the handle to turn it but it was locked. "Kenta! Hurry up!"

The bathroom door opened and Mariko looked at me angrily. "Don't you know a lady has to take about an hour in the bathroom?"

My mouth widened. "Are you serious? I take 10 minutes."

She took at me disgusted and slammed the bathroom door in my face.

Flashback

Doorbell Rings

My mom walked up to the front door and opened it. "And you are?" She asked.

"I'm Mariko Tani, Aki's fiancé." Mariko held onto her multiple shopping bags. She looked at Kiyoshi and I standing next to each other, while I was holding her hand. Then, she continued to look around and saw Aki. "Aki! Let's go home to your grandmother's."

Mrs. Suzu came out of the living room and stood next to Aki. "I'm sorry, but my house only has two rooms, one for me and one for Aki."

"It's okay, I'll sleep with Aki. I don't mind." Mariko looked at Aki happily.

"You may not mind, but I mind." Mrs. Suzu told her. "You will stay here instead."

"What!" My mom and I yelled in unison.

Back to the Present

At Fukuoka High School

I put my head on my desk and sighed. "I can't do this anymore..." 

Kiyoshi walked into the classroom and put his school bag on his desk. "What happened?" 

"Mariko hogged the bathroom for an hour! I couldn't even eat breakfast because I didn't brush my teeth." I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep to forget about my hunger. 

Kiyoshi realized what I was trying to do and put his swimming towel on top of me. "You don't want to catch a cold." 

I continued to close my eyes while I smiled. 

"Aww, you're soo sweet, Kiyoshi." Aoi jumped toward us from wherever she was before. 

He crossed his arms. "Are you mocking me?" 

"Pfft, noo." She whistled and looked the other way.

Bell Rings

I put my head up and saw Ms. Kita walking into the classroom with her briefcase. "Good morning, class." She put her briefcase on the teacher's desk.

"Good morning, Ms. Kita," We said in unison.

"We have a new transfer student today. Please come in."

Aki walked through the door and stood in front of the class. "Hi, I'm Akihiro Kaneko. It's nice to meet you guys."

"You can sit in the chair in front of Kiyoshi." Ms. Kita pointed at Kiyoshi.

He raised his hand and waved it back and front excitedly. "Akihiro!"

Aki smiled and walked to his seat. When he was walking to his seat, our eyes made eye contact and then I quickly diverted.

Time Lapse: 45 Minutes Later

Bell Rings

Aoi came running towards me and grabbed my hand. "Takami, let's go get lunch!" She rushed out the door until someone grabbed my other hand and pulled me back.

"What do you think you're doing?" Kiyoshi smirked at Aoi.

"Getting lunch." Aoi narrowed her eyes at him.

"Not with my girlfriend." He yanked me to his lap and my face went blank.

Aoi pouted. "But she's my friend." She also yanked me but wasn't as strong as Kiyoshi. 

I pulled my arm from Aoi and held onto Kiyoshi's hands. "You know I can get lunch for you, right? I don't mind." 

Kiyoshi pouted. "Fine, bring me back some curry rice." 

I turned around and looked at Aki, facing us. "You want anything?" 

"No, I'm fine." He smiled. 

I fake smiled and got off of Kiyoshi's lap. "Let's go get lunch," I told Aoi. 

Aoi jumped excitedly and dragged me out of the classroom. 

- Akihiro's POV - 

"Hey, I have a question," Kiyoshi looked at me seriously. "Do you still like Takami?"

I blinked twice. "Why do you say?"

"Takami told me that you two liked each other, but you had to leave. So, I'm just wondering."

I sighed. "I don't like her anymore."

Kiyoshi smiled and scratched his head. "That's good news. It would've been really awkward if we both like her."

I sweat-dropped and awkwardly giggled. "Yeah... totally awkward... Besides, I have a fiancé."

"Oh, right, I forgot." He chuckled.

I can't possibly tell Kiyoshi that I'm still in love with Takami. Besides, it seems like Takami has already moved on.
