Takami Hirota, a 16-year old girl, is the most popular girl in school. When she was younger, she fell in love with a guy named Akihiro Kaneko. However, soon after, Akihiro moved away. Takami and Akihiro never saw each other until 10 years later. The...
Aki and I both sat on the chairs in front of Junto's room. I looked down at the floor as Aki tried to comfort me.
"It's not your fault, you know? It just happened." Aki rubbed my arm.
I put my head on his shoulder and started crying. "I just wanted to see you before you left."
"I'm sorry, Takami, but I should really get going." He let go of me and got off the seat.
I quickly grabbed his arm. "You're not gonna stay and see if Junto's okay?"
His hair covered his eyes. "I can't. If I stay any longer, my brother's gonna bring me back by force." He turned around and looked at me. "And the outcome is just gonna hurt you."
I looked at him deeply. "But I can take it, Aki. I'm not a little girl anymore."
"My older brother plans to purchase the school and make the people I love suffer."
My eyes widened. "What... That's not possible."
Aki turned back around. "It is, our company has enough money."
"But you don't have to go! Even if the school is shut down, we'll still all be together."
"It's gonna be very unlikely since we might go to different schools." He looked to the side, putting up a front looking unphased.
"There has to be a solution..."
He came closer to me. "No matter what happens, no matter what it'll take, all that matters is your happiness." He slightly smiled. "I want to preserve your smile."
"I'll see you again, right?" My hair covered my eyes.
"I'm not sure. With work at the company and I rebelled against my brother. I don't know if he'll leave me out of his sight, but..."
"Then I'll say this now, I like you." I continued to hold his arm. "I've always liked you. Ever since you left when we were little, I've been waiting for your return." I looked up at him. "You're the guy I've always loved. If I didn't tell you, I would've regretted it later." I smiled.
Aki came closer to me and...

We pulled away and looked at each other.
"I like you too." Aki smiled.
I smiled as well. "I know, I heard when you were being confessed too." I winked and stuck out my tongue.
Suddenly, Aki hugged me tightly. "I wish I realized my feelings for you sooner. I don't wanna leave you."
I pulled apart from him. I looked down and grabbed his hand. Suddenly, tears started to fall down. "Even though you're leaving and I might not see you, you will always stay in my heart even when you aren't in front of me." I looked at him and smiled. "I know I'm being a little dramatic, but I've been waiting for this for years. Now, it's being taken away from me."
Tears came down from his face as well. "I'll definitely come back, but I don't know when."
"It's okay... I don't plan on leaving your side." I held onto his hand tighter.
"Neither do I." He gave me a fake smile.
"See you soon." I looked at Aki got up from the seat and exiting the hospital. More tears fell down and I smiled. "I know I'm not gonna see you soon, but... I can wish, right?"
The Next Day
Sachie and I walked into school.
"Hello, Takami and Sachie! How is Junto!" The guys said something different than usual.
I looked at Sachie surprised but then smiled. "He's doing fine. He's undergoing surgery right now. Thanks for asking." I smiled at them brightly and they all blushed. I opened my shoe locker and put on my school shoes.
"I think I'm gonna break up with Junto when he wakes up from the surgery." Sachie finished putting on her school shoes and closed her locker.
"What? Why?" I headed to the classroom and she followed.
"His feelings didn't reciprocate. I don't think I can go out with someone who doesn't like me back." Sachie sighed.
"Don't be a downer; it just takes some time." I gave my school bag to Sachie.
"Why are you giving this to me?" She asked.
"I have to go somewhere first." I fake smiled at her and went up to the roof.
She sighed again. "You don't have to bear this burden alone."
At the Roof
I walked over to the roof fence and looked down at the people walking into school. My heart started to ache but I still smiled.
Flashback
He came closer to me. "No matter what happens, no matter what it'll take, all that matters is your happiness." He slightly smiled. "I want to preserve your smile."
Back to the Present
"Takami?"
My eyes widened and turned around as the wind was blowing my hair to the right. "Oh... it's you, Haru." I looked down to the side disappointed.
"You miss him, don't you?" Haru stood in front of me.
"Of course, I do. He's the guy I've always loved." I smiled.
"You'll see him again, we all will." He nodded his head. "Please don't carry this burden alone, we all lost Aki."
"Why are you telling me this?" I tilted my head.
"Because I know you. You'll keep your problems to yourself, just like when Junto was all over you."
"I just don't want anyone to get hurt." I looked at him desperately.
