Chapter 21: Amusement Park Pt. 3

- Junto's POV -

At the Ferris Wheel

Sachie and I sat there in silence, looking at each other with an awkward smile.

"I thought I was gonna ride the Ferris Wheel with Takami." I put my elbow on my leg and my head on my hand.

"I mean, you should probably let those two be alone." Sachie put my hands on her thighs.

"But Takami finally gave me the chance to prove myself..." I looked behind Sachie and my mouth widened. "Sachie, look at what they're doing!"

She looked behind and saw Takami's head on Akihiro's shoulder. "What's wrong?"

"I can't believe they're doing this in front of me." I frowned.

"You know, I don't get something. You're so popular with other girls that want to go out with you, why go after one that doesn't?" Sachie looked at me questioned. 

I looked at the floor. "Because she's the one who encouraged me to do what I really wanna do."

Flashback

In the Hallways

I looked at the application form to apply for the student council. "Should I apply for the student body president?" I sighed. 

"You're applying for the student body president?" 

I looked ahead and saw a girl with long light brown hair in front of me. "Um... not really..." I folded the application and put it in my pocket. 

"Awww, that's too bad, it would've been really cool." She smiled at me. 

"You think it's cool?" 

"Of course! You'll be able to lead the school and make every student happy." 

My eyes widened. "I never heard anyone say it was cool before." 

"Maybe they don't know how hard the job is." 

I couldn't believe that someone actually understood how I felt. "I've always wanted to be student body president." I looked down and then at her shyly. 

"That's great! I'll vote for you then!" She smiled and walked past me to get to her classroom. 

I turned around quickly. "Wait, I didn't get your name." 

She opened the classroom door and looked at me. "It's Takami Hirota." 

"I'm Junto Bando." 

Back to the Present

"I see... that must've been a memorable day for you, huh?" Sachie looked at me. 

I looked to the side because of embarrassment. "Yeah... but after what happened today... I don't think I have a shot with her." I sighed. 

"What are you saying! You're gonna lose hope?" Sachie got up.

"I mean... there's nothing else I can do... They have chemistry..." I sighed again.

"Besides being all slum, why don't you go out with me?" She looked down at me sitting.

"Go out with you?"

"I like you, Junto, and I can't stand you being all sad."

My eyes widened. I couldn't believe that Sachie liked me. Wait, maybe if I go out with Sachie, I could make Takami jealous. "Uh..."

"Let's do the thing you did with Takami! I have a week to make you fall in love with me!" She looked at me pumped.

I sighed happily. "Fine."

She jumped in excitement. "Yass!"

Outside of the Ferris Wheel

Sachie held onto my arm as we walked closer to Haru on the bench.

"What happened here?" Haru got up from the bench.

"Sachie and I are going out." I looked at Sachie and smiled.

"I thought you wanted to go out with Takami," Haru asked me.

I looked to the side. "Yeah... but I thought about it and realized I never had a shot, especially with Aki around."

"You're just gonna give up?" Haru tilted his head.

Sachie pouted. "He said he never had a shot, okay..."

Haru sweat-dropped. "I guess that's good?"

"Seriously, who falls asleep on the Ferris Wheel?" Aki said to Takami, as they walked closer to us.

"Well, I'm sorry, I went to sleep late last night." Takami looked ahead and saw Sachie holding my arm.

She put her hands together and smiled. "You guys are finally going out?"

"Finally?" I asked.

"Yeah, we knew that Sachie liked you for a while," Akihiro said.

"Yep," Haru said as well.

"Am I the only one who didn't know?" I moved my head left and right to look at all of them.

"Probably."

"Yep." Takami agreed. "I guess it's because you were going after me all those times, that you didn't realize who liked you. Besides I would've never agreed to go out with you."

My hair covered my eyes. "So... I never really had a chance with you...?"

"I mean I could never betray my best friend, right?" She smiled.

I was speechless. "Um... I'm gonna go for a walk."

"Let me come with you." Sachie continued to hold onto his arm.

"Nah... I'll go by myself."

- Takami's POV -

Sachie, Haru, and Aki all looked at me.

"What did I do?"

Haru sighed. "I'll go talk to him."

"Seriously what did I do?" I asked them.

"Junto was all over you before he went out with me. Couldn't you have been a little more sensitive?" Sachie looked at me sadly.

"I thought you guys were going out?"

"Yeah, but I confessed and he was telling me how he never had a shot with you and you just confirmed it."

"But..." I looked at the ground. Sachie sighed and followed Junto. "Am I a bad person?" I asked Aki. 

"You're just very dense." Aki put his arm around my neck. 

I pouted. "I don't like being dense..."
