Chapter 28: Junto Bando

- Takami's POV - 

In the Classroom

I looked to my right and didn't see Aki in his seat. I tapped on Sachie's shoulder and she turned around. "Is Aki absent again?" 

She looked at his seat. "Probably..." She turned back around and then faced me again. "He didn't tell you anything?" 

"No... why?" 

She avoided eye contact. "No reason." She turned back around again. 

"Do you know something that I don't know?" I leaned closer to her.

"What...?" She said fakely. "Like he would tell me anything... Pffftttt...." She looked left and right to avoid interrogation.

"What is it?? Tell me!!" I got off of my seat and walked in front of her.

"Um... TEACHER! SHE'S STANDING IN FRONT OF ME!" Sachie pointed at me.

"Yes, I see that." Ms. Ono turned to face the board, ignoring Sachie's problem. 

"I really need to talk to him, please tell me." I grabbed onto her hand. 

"You know it isn't that serious, right?" Sachie sweat-dropped. 

"It is, Sachie, he said he liked me." I smiled. "Well, not directly, but he still said it." 

"What! And he didn't tell me?" Sachie looked to the side confused. 

"Please tell me where he is so I can tell him how I feel." I jumped up and down from excitement. 

"Fine..." Sachie sighed. "He's going back home today." 

I fake giggled. "What do you mean he's going back home?" 

"He said he had to help out with the company."

"Why didn't he tell me?" I frowned.

"Because he didn't want to get you upset." Sachie smiled slightly.

"But I'm gonna be upset either way!" I ran out of the classroom. "Wait..." I ran back in. "Do you know what he's taking to get back to Kami-Shirataki?"

Sachie nodded her head left and right. "He never told us."

"Okay, I'll just go to his house." I ran out of the classroom again.

"We have class, Ms. Hirota!" Ms. Ono yelled from inside the classroom.

I ran as quick as possible to get to Aki's house.

"What's the rush?" Junto stopped walking which made me continue to run in the same place.

"Aki's leaving and I need to catch up with him." I continued to run in place.

"Let me go with you." He walked toward the Student Council Room. "Let me just put this down and..." He turned around and I had already left.

"I have to get to his house before he leaves." I closed my eyes and continued to run. "Please don't leave me. Why is it that I finally found you and you're leaving again!" I cried as I ran.

Beep Beep

I opened my eyes and looked to my right. A car was racing toward me at a really fast velocity. As I was in shock, I just stood there hoping that I would make this out alive. Or maybe preparing to say my goodbyes.

Car Crashes

"Someone call an ambulance!" A group of people surrounded me.

I opened my eyes slowly but everything was blurry. As I tried to adjust my eyesight, I saw a student laying down in front of the car surrounded my blood. Tears started to run down my face. "Junto!!!"

At the Hospital

I took out my phone and called Aki.

"Hey, Takami. I'm sorry I have to tell you this on the phone but..."

I cut him off and trembled. "Junto's in the hospital."

15 Minutes Later

"You think he's gonna be okay?" Haru sat on the bed next to Junto.

I held onto Junto's hand. "I hope so."

Sachie sighed and Aki came rushing into the room. "How is he?"

"The doctors say he needs surgery." Sachie smiled while holding back the tears.

Tears ran down my face. "This is all my fault. If I just paid more attention to the road."

Aki walked over to me and hugged me. "It's not your fault, it just... happened..."

I looked up at Aki and tears continued to run down my face. "Why didn't you tell me that you were leaving?"

Aki held me by the shoulders with his head down. "Last night, I had a dream where I told you I was leaving and you died." He avoided eye contact from me. "I didn't want my dream to become reality, but now..." Aki looked at Junto in the bed.  "Junto is in this state."

"Let's just hope that he gets better." Haru left the room.

Aki and I followed him. "Sachie, you coming?"

Sachie looked at Junto. "I'll come later."

Aki and I left the room.

- Sachie's POV -

I grabbed onto Junto's hand and looked at him. "Why?"

Flashback

"Let me go with you." Junto walked toward the Student Council Room. "Let me just put this down and..." He turned around and Takami had already left.

"Junto, you should let Akihiro and Takami meet alone. They have chemistry." I walked closer to him and grabbed his hand.

He made a fist and hesitated. "I..." 

"I know that you still like Takami." I smiled slightly. "It isn't easy to get over someone that fast." 

"I'm sorry but I really want to go." He looked at me desperately. 

"If you want." I let go of his hand and he left running out of the room. "Even though you're with me... you still love her..." 

Back to the Present

"I don't understand. Even though she only looks at Akihiro, you still go after her... Why?" I looked down at our hands together. 

"I'm sorry." A doctor came into the room. "We will be operating the surgery soon." 

"Okay, I'll leave."
