- Takami's POV -
On the School's Rooftop
I held onto the fence that surrounded the roof and looked down. "Wow, the students look so small." The door opened behind me and then I saw Aki. "Why did you tell me to come up here? I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to be up here."
Aki walked up to me and stared into my eyes. "Takami..."
I tilted my head. "Yes? Is everything okay?"
All of a sudden, Aki wrapped his arms around me and brought me closer to him. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you wait so long. I didn't have the courage to confront my brother, but I finally did."
My eyes widened and I pushed Aki away from me. "You confronted your brother!?! What happened? Are you going to move again?" I grabbed onto Aki's school uniform tightly.
"No, I'm not moving. I'm currently living at my grandma's house since I'm no longer welcome at the house." He sweat-dropped.
"Wait, what! Why would you do that! That's your family..." I looked straight into his eyes with fear.
"It's okay. I felt trapped in that household, feeling like I wasn't able to make my own decision. Now that I'm free, I'm able to do something that I've always wanted to do." He looked at me gently.
I smiled. "And what's that?"
"Takami, do u want to be my girlfriend?"
My eyes started to get teary and my heart started to beat fast. I met you when I was little and ever since then you have always been in my mind. 10 years later, I finally got to meet you again. Though our reunion was bumpy, I was happy that you were by my side. After that, you left again, and not knowing when you were going to come back, I tried to forget about you to stop the pain. However, I couldn't and I continue to be drawn to you. With all these events and feelings, I have been longing for those words. I tilted my head and smiled. "Sure."
Aki blinked twice and then sweat-dropped. "Why did you take so long to answer?"
I scratched the back of my head and smiled. "I was thinking about how everything that has happened in our lives was so complicated; and, now you finally asked that question."
He extended his arms out and pulled me closer to him again. "I understand how you feel. I'm just glad that right now you're all mine."
I wrapped my arms around his body and closed my eyes. "So am I."
"Stop pushing!" Aoi yelled and pushed the roof door open. Aoi, Kiyoshi, Mariko, Satoru, and Ren all fell on top of each other. They sweat-dropped and said in unison, "Hey...."
Aki and I released the hug, looked at each other, and then giggled.
"Is it official?" Aoi smiled brightly.
Both of us smiled, as we intertwined our hands.
"Yay! Congratulations!" Aoi got up from the pile of them on the floor and came over to hug me.
Kiyoshi walked over to Aki and directly looked at him in the eyes. "You better treat her right." He smiled and lightly punched Aki's shoulder.
"Of course." He smiled back at him. "The punch you gave me at the aquarium gave me the courage that I needed to confront my brother. Thanks."
Kiyoshi put his arm around Aki's shoulder. "No problem. If you need another beating, I can always give you another one."
Mariko walked up to Aki seriously, turned around, and then crossed her arms. "I'm glad you finally got to make your own decision and not follow whatever your brother says."
Aki smiled. "Thanks, Mariko."
She looked back and blushed. "It was nothing..."
I walked up to Kiyoshi and hugged him. "Thank you."
In the Past
He sighed and hugged me. "...You're amazing... You shouldn't be waiting for someone to be happy."
My eyes widened and then I clenched my fist. "Thank you." I pushed Kiyoshi away and looked at him. "But the feelings I have for him can't just disappear. Even though I'm waiting, I have faith in him that he'll succeed. There's no doubt in my mind. I've been thinking who I should choose... you or Aki... and I..."
Kiyoshi closed his eyes and smiled. "I understand. You've known Akihiro for most of your life and your feelings stayed." He walked closer to his bed and plopped down.
"Are you going to be okay?" I followed and gently sat on his bed.
"Yeah... it'll just take some time."
Back to the Present
I let go of Kiyoshi and walked back to Aki to hug him.
Aoi put her hands together and smiled. "Now that everything is settled, we should probably go to class."
Bell Rings
"Oh no! We're late!" Aoi, Kiyoshi, Mariko, Satoru, and Ren ran back downstairs quickly as possible.
I followed after them until Aki pulled back my arm. I turned around and tilted my head. "What's wrong? We're gonna be late."
Aki's hair covered his eyes. He pulled me closer to him and kissed me on the lips. My eyes widened as he was held my arm and body. After the realization came in, I closed my eyes and enjoyed it.
We both pulled away and looked each other in the eyes.
"I love you." He smiled gently.
I started to blush. Immediately, I hugged him and smiled happily. "I love you too."
