- Takami's POV -
I entered the school while looking down at the floor.
"You okay?" Sachie looked at me concerned.
"Oh, Sachie!" I backed away from her.
"Why are you walking away from me?" She giggled and walked closer to me.
"Wow, look at the time. Gotta go!" I ran away from her and toward the classroom. "I just can't face her right now."
"Face who?" Aki was suddenly in front of me.
I quickly stopped running. "Aki... I can't face you either!" I continued to run. "Who can I face?"
"Hey, Takami." Haru waved at me.
"Haru! Of course!" I grabbed his arm and dragged him up to the roof.
On the Roof
"What's wrong?"
Tears ran down my face. "I need help."
"Okay, what's wrong?" Haru sat down and patted the floor, signaling me to sit down as well.
I sat next to him. "Junto kissed me when we were at Tapioca, the other day."
"And... what's the problem?" He tilted his head.
My mouth widened. "Are you serious? Junto kissed me!"
"Look, Junto likes you. Can't you just accept his feelings? You've been keeping him waiting for too long already."
I looked down at my legs. "I can't... I feel bad, but... Sachie likes Junto. I can't go out with him."
"Wow, Sachie likes Junto? Would've never guessed." He looked at me. "So just tell him, he's making it worse if he keeps on following you."
"Sachie wants to tell him herself." I sighed, then the roof door opened.
"I'm giving up on Junto." Sachie looked at us.
Both of our faces went blank. "What! Why!"
Sachie looked down at the ground. "I realized that Junto will always love Takami."
"That's not true... He..."
She cut me off. "You don't have to change my mind. I saw the security camera footage."
I looked at Sachie and could tell she was about to cry. "I'll be right back." I went down the stairs and tried to find Junto in the hallways. I can't let Sachie just give up. She loves him. "Junto!"
Junto turned around. "Yeah?" He scratched the back of his head. "To be honest, I thought you would avoid me after what happened the other day."
"Junto, please give up on me." I looked at him deeply.
His hair covered his eyes. "Why..."
"I'm sorry." I turned around and walked away. I looked to my left and saw Haru and Sachie eavesdropping. "He's all yours, Sachie." I smiled and walked. Then, I saw Aki standing there smiling. "Did I do the right thing?" I asked him.
"Of course, now Sachie has the chance. Wowow, why are you crying?"
Tears started to fall down my face. "Because I hurt his feelings." I closed my eyes and more tears came. "I hate hurting people's feelings."
Aki walked over to me and put his arm around me. "You're too innocent."
I looked up at him. "I can't help it."
"Now's your chance." Haru pushed Sachie out into the hallway.
She gulped and walked closer to Junto. "Hey."
"Hey." He looked out of the window.
"I'm sorry that Takami said that, but if you need anything, I'm here to help." She looked at him and smiled.
Junto, then, looked at her and smiled as well. "Thanks."
At the Gymnasium
Junto shot the ball but missed. He tried to run but tripped.
"Look, he's like a mess now." Sachie pointed at him.
I looked at Junto and then back at Sachie. "This is for the best, he has to get over me anyways."
"What if he isn't able to play in any future games! That could mess him up!" She got up from the bleachers. "I'm gonna go talk to him." She started to walk closer to him.
I sighed and walked over to Aki who was looking at his phone concerningly. "What's wrong?"
He put his phone back in his duffle bag. "Oh, nothing."
