Chapter 38: Aoi Sato

- Takami's POV -

In the Classroom

"Tada!" Kiyoshi pulled off the lid of the Eggplant and Kabocha Miso Gratin in a container.

I leaned closer to the dish and smelled it. "Wow, it smells really good."

"Come on, try it." He held onto the lid, looking at me excitedly.

I had a fork from the cafeteria from my bag and pulled it out. Slowly, I put my fork into the dish and grabbed a huge chunk of the food. Once it entered my mouth, my eyes widened. "Oh my god! This is amazing!"

His nose grew. "Right? Don't I have the best mom ever?"

I continued to eat the food. "I can't wait till I meet your mom."

"Meet my mom?" He blushed.

I blinked twice, not knowing what I did wrong. Suddenly, it just hit me and I blushed. "That's not what I meant! I meant... I meant..." I looked to the side and tried to think of a reason quickly.

Kiyoshi giggled. "Don't worry about it. I know what you mean."

I turned my head and looked at him in relief.

"Aww, the two love birds." A girl from our class came up to us.

"We're not love birds, Aoi." Kiyoshi looked at her unpleased.

"What's with that face? You see me all the time." She put her hands on her hips.

"That's the problem." He rolled his eyes.

"Don't mind his juvenile behavior." She put out her hand for me to shake. "I'm Aoi Sato, Kiyoshi's older sister."

"Only by a month..." He pouted.

I shook her hand. "I'm Takami Hirota."

"Oh, I know who you are." She smirked at Kiyoshi. "Kiyoshi talks about you none stop."

He blushed hard. "Aoi!" He quickly covered her mouth. "Don't listen to her, she has mental problems." He sweat-dropped.

Aoi grabbed his hand and put it down. "Hey! That's not true!"

Kiyoshi quickly put his hand over Aoi's mouth again. "Shh!"

Aoi looked at my school bag on the desk and noticed the pink mini rabbit. She left Kiyoshi's grasp and came closer to me. "Aww, that's cute. Kiyoshi has the same one, just blue."

I smiled. "He actually won this mini rabbit for me."

"Really?" She looked at him. "Boyfriend material or what?"

He blushed and tried to avoid eye contact with me. "I was only being nice."

Aoi walked over to him and put her arm on top of his shoulder. "Don't try to hide it."

Bell Rings

Ms. Kita walked into the classroom with her briefcase. "Good morning, students." She put her briefcase on the teacher's desk.

"Good morning!" We said in unison.

"Let's start today's lesson." She grabbed some chalk and started writing on the board.

I took out my notebook and my phone from my school bag. My notebook and my phone both on the table and I opened both of them. I started playing on my phone until I realized I haven't check if Aki messaged me back from the message I sent him.

Me: We haven't talked much lately. Give me a call?

Apparently, Aki left me on seen but never replied to my message. He's probably just really busy. I sighed and put my phone back into my school bag. Sometimes I wish, I can turn back time and relive those moments.

- Akihiro's POV -

In My Office

"That's not fair! You have fast legs!" She kept on running after him and when she was next to me, everything was in slow motion.

I looked to the side and my eyes widened. Takami. Why are you in Fukuoka High School's uniform?

Back to the Present

I sat in my chair and put my head on the desk. "Why were you in a different school's uniform, Takami?"

Knock Knock

"Come in, I guess..." I said faintly.

Mariko opened the door and walked toward me. "Are you okay? You've been acting weird ever since we got back from Hakata." She sat on top of my desk and looked down at me. "Did you see her?"

I turned my head the other way so I wouldn't see Mariko's buttocks. "I saw her in a different school uniform. How is that possible? I'm here so I could've prevented the school from being shut down. Were my efforts useless?"

Mariko didn't say anything.

I turned my head around and saw Mariko trying to avoid eye contact with me. "Mariko? Do you know something?" I stood up and looked into her eyes.

She sighed. "Fine, I'll tell you."
