The Land of the Samurai.

There was a time, long ago, when our country was called by that name.

With the arrival of the "Amanto" from outer space and the sword ban twenty years ago, the samurai class fell into decline.

In such hard times, there was one particular woman who brushed off the new laws and continued about her days as normal.

Due to some rather unexpected events, I, Shimura Shinpachi and Sakata Gintoki, ended up almost killing her.

In the lovely Kabukicho District, saw two men on a silver scooter driving down the road that led to their workplace - or home, you should say. This was their usual routine, going to the shops for groceries and then home to feed their gluttonous co-worker.

"Oh crap!" the silver-haired man exclaimed, his dead fish eyes not widening in surprise. "JUMP comes out today! I forgot that this week, JUMP comes out on Saturday. Should we turn back?"

The younger boy-sixteen years old to be exact-shook his head, "No, forgot it, Gin-san. We've already got the groceries to make sukiyaki. If we're late, Kagura-chan is gonna get mad at us for taking too long," Shinpachi shivered, recalling the last time they got late. Kagura had used her monstrous Yato strength to kick them both into the next week.

"This might be a good chance to give it up," Gintoki sighed, a bit disappointed in himself. "Reading up at my age... but men are always boys at heart until they die."

The boy with the glasses lifted an eyebrow; he had just gotten déjà vu for some reason. "Why do I feel like we've had this conversation before?" Shinpachi then looked forward at the road but noticed a figure run out onto the road right in front of their vehicle. Gintoki was too lost in his thoughts to realise or even notice the person. "Gin-san, look out!" Shinpachi was forced to move the handle bars of the scooter in order to dodge, but it was no use.

Gintoki then found himself laying on the concrete ground, his body hurting all over. When he raised himself up, he looked around for his friend with blurred vision. "Oi, Shinpachi... Wake up," he shook the closest person he could see.

"Gin-san... I'm over here," Gintoki was confused when he heard Shinpachi's voice from a few metres away - who was this person in front of him then?

The samurai rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times. When his vision was cleared, he then saw what was actually in front of him. There was a woman wearing a [colour] kimono on the floor with the items in her bad scattered all over the asphalt-he also saw a sheathed sword not far from him. That didn't belong to him... was it yours?

"...Gin-san?" Shinpachi approached the man and looked down. "Gin-san! You hit her!! What are we going to do?!"

He nervously laughed and crawled into a nearby vending machine. "D-Don't get worked up," he put his head into the opening, "C-Chill out and help me find a t-time machine."

"You chill out!" Shinpachi was frantically waving his arms, looking around to see if there were any witnesses; there wasn't anyone around.

"It'll be fine, you know... The TV's astrology segment said I'd be lucky this weekend. I'm sure she's miraculously unharmed," Gintoki got out of the machine and walked over to the woman, turning her body around to see the damage he did. "Hey, lady..." When he lifted her side, he saw red substance pouring out like it was a waterfall. The two boys froze for a second before looking at each other.
