"Listen up!" Kondo pointed up towards the sky, grabbing all the attention from the Shinsengumi squads lined up in front of him. "The purpose of today's special assignment is to implore the citizens of Edo to be on the lookout for crimes." Everyone was currently standing in a large park for this meeting.
But no one was really complaining, after all, the famous pop idol singer, Ōtsu was present. She was by Kondo's side in a police uniform. You on the other hand, were standing next to a bright yellow and pink Ōtsu-Shinsengumi van while Kondo continued.
"To restore the Shinsengumi's reputation, which quite recently has been severely tarnished. So, pop idol Ōtsu-chan will be our Chief For The Day and help us improve our public image! So listen up! Whatever you do today, just be on your best behaviour! And also respect Otsū-chan... I mean the Chief... and learn hie to capture people's hearts!"
The Shinsengumi members ran up to the girl with markers and a paper.
"It's really Otsū-chan!"
"Your autograph! Please give me your autograph!"
"Idiots!" Kondo shouted. "We won't be able to control the citizens if we can't even control ourselves," he faced the singer and apologised. "Sorry about that, Chief. I haven't trained them very well..."
"You get mad at them for wanting an autograph, but what's all that pink writing on your back?" Some members began to beat him up. After Hijikata gave her the schedule for the day, she started to lecture the men who were fighting.
"Hey, you guys! That's enough! You have a bad reputation because all you do is fight! Settling everything with violence is as low as you can get! As of right now, I'm banning violence for today. Take off those swords on your waists!"
In a matter of a second, all swords were on the floor, "We're sorry, Chief!"
"Tōshi! Sougo! [name]-san! What're you doing?! Hurry up and drop your weapons!"
"No thanks," you replied.
"Kondo-san, I think you've dropped your brain."
"We have to work at improving our image!" he hovered his hand above Otsū's shoulder and blushed. "Do you think I called Otsū-chan over here for no reason?" he placed his hand on her shoulder.
You replied back, "No, I think you called her here because you had lecherous motives."
"Otsū-chan... I mean, the Chief... was once hung out to dry because of a scandal and she hit rock bottom. But despite that, she sang anywhere she could with a never-give-up attitude. And when music producer Tsunpo recognised her talent, they completely cleaned up her image. Today, she's returned to be one of Edo's top pop idols. She's a pheonix-like pop star!"
"I'd understand Shinpachi explaining the life of Otsū-san, but Kondo-san? Wow, I thought he would be explaining the life of Otae-chan."
"I know people call you the 24-hour police thugs behind your backs. Now that I'm Chief, I will do my best to throughly improve your public image using the business strategies pounded into me by Tsunpo-san."
The idol put up her pointer finger, "First, we must erase the brutal image that has followed you around! So, I think we should start by changing this rule. Rule: 'Do not violate the Way of the Samurai. Villagers must commit seppuku.' So, from today on, we'll go with this. Poke ginger sauté. Add something cute to the end of your sentences. Violators must commit seppuku. Cloned human."
"That wasn't cute. You left in the most dangerous part: seppuku," Hijikata commented.
"I couldn't remove it without losing the samurai style. Camel hump."
