note- this is honestly just a fun arc that i wrote. essentially, it's filled with 2019/2020 memes and just a bunch of random shit lmaoo. lowkey cringe, but it was fun to write when i wrote it so i'm not gonna delete it ahah. enjoy :)

A yawn escaped your mouth as your body woke up from its slumber. The warmth of your futon blankets covered your figure as the room temperature was dropping by the minute. You stretched your limbs out and let out a satisfying groan, "...Today's my birthday."

Disregarding your own comment, you got ready for the day. Whilst you sang your favourite song, "𝔁𝓾𝓮🥶𝓱𝓾𝓪🧚‍♀️𝓹𝓲𝓪𝓸😻𝓹𝓲𝓪𝓸🗿𝓫𝓮𝓲👺𝓯𝓮𝓷𝓰🤩𝔁𝓲𝓪𝓸😼𝔁𝓲𝓪𝓸👣." Your singing was almost as chaotic as the weather outside.

Yesterday, it had been a great day with the sunshine-even last week when yourself and the Yorozuya went out beetle catching; it was sunny. However, today was the complete polar opposite, "I'm never trusting Ketsuno Ana again."

You recalled the weather channel specifically stating that there was going to be nice weather today. Taking another sip of your hot beverage, you picked up another coat from your closet and put it on to help you get even warmer. Before leaving your household to get to the hospital (for work) you picked up your sword and attached it to your waist. "I can't help feel that today is going to be eventful... in a negative way."

Perhaps your friends were going to ruin a surprise birthday party like they did with Hijikata's a year ago. Or maybe perhaps... they totally forgot about this day? It's not like you would mind; but your heart did clench when you thought about it.

After signing into the hospital and putting on your proper nurse uniform you headed towards the roster. "So I'm needed there... here... and okay!" Despite the exclamation point, which usually indicates the excitement or surprise a person has when talking, you were actually upset that you had to work. "I deserve a break today." You stated-forgetting that in the last few chapters you were in, you weren't even working but instead, having fun with the Yorozuya or Shinsengumi.

"[name]-san," the Head Nurse appeared out of nowhere with a bright, genuine smile on her face. "Sorry for asking you to work today. I would've given you a day off since you said that you were busy today, but someone already asked for a leave today."

"Head Nurse?! Why is she being so nice out of the blue like this? And when has she ever smiled at work?! This is a Christmas miracle," you politely bowed, "N-Not a problem at all." The older woman skipped, quite literally, away into another room.

"First the weather and now this? I must be lucid dreaming," you then gagged when you saw a certain familiar girl walking towards you. However there was something strange about her. "Karen," you grit your teeth.

She shrieked, but then composed herself, "[last name], so you're still here? It didn't work!"

"What the heck are you on about?"

Karen let out an ugly groan, "I knew it was a waste of money. Why did I even spend it on a person like you?"

"You're the one who spent your own money! And on what?!"

"Leave me alone, or I'll file a complaint about you not working."

"You little-"

"Don't get mad. Calm down," she moved the palm of her hand up and down. "Bye~"

"Annoying little- No, don't swear at her. She's not worth your time. I see that I guess not everyone has changed," you shook your head and walked to the next room you were assigned to. A certain ninja wearing blue caught your eye, "Hattori-san, how are you? I guess... not well since you're here. Do you want help with your cream?"
