What Do We Do Now?

**This may be the final part of my Avengers Infinity War interpretation. This was also sorta requested by a friend... like five months ago 💀

Wanda without hesitation follows after Proxima and Vision through the shattered window.

"Wait-" I shout, but she's already gone into the jungle.

Shuri hurriedly equips her gauntlets on and communicates, "One of the lieutenants took Vision."

Stark responds, "Is Vision compromised?"

As her and I dash across the lab to enter the battle field, she replies, "Not yet."

The plains are infested with aliens on steroids (I swear to God, these guys have bigger biceps than I have a chance at getting better luck.) Attempting to assess the situation, our comms begin to crackle. Static fills my ear and suddenly the screen in my mask displays that signals are getting lost.

Oh no.

Voices start coming through asking what's going on, but no one seems to be able to get an answer.

"Colonel Danvers, can you read me?" I called.

Nothing.

Several others try again but the result is the same. She didn't answer. In fact, the Guardians didn't answer either. Their logs are marked: offline.

The Milano was no where in sight, and that made me fear the worst: either the ship has crashed or the team has been taken hostage.

Shuri advances further into the field and calls me to follow. "Spider-Man, we can't let ourselves be distracted. The other's will be fine."

I hope so.

Wave after wave, we push through to rendezvous point with the remaining combatants in Wakanda to devise a plan.

Stark beams through the hoards of aliens, leaving nothing but singed corpses. "What's the plan," Stark questions Cap.

"We need to get a hold of Vision again before they rip the Mind Stone from him. Wanda can hold off Proxima perfectly fine, but she can't fight both Proxima and Corvus," Cap explains, "Someone needs to go in and aid her in battle."

Without hesitation, Stark speeds to the top of the jungle and scans for Wanda's location.

Cap continues giving us orders. "Spider-Man and Shuri, you'll be down here holding off the Outriders. We can't let them get into Wakanda."

We nod and follow orders.

The crowds seem endless. Shuri's energy blasts push them back, but they keep advancing. Cap, smashes their heads in and pushes them further back.

Off in the distance, Hulk and Thor come over to aid us in protecting Wakanda and its people. Soon, a good perimeter is established.

We're... We're going to win! They don't stand a chance-

That's where a giant boulder knocks into me, and I fall back at least a few yards back. With my head buzzing, it didn't take much to realize what the cause was. He stood at the top of a hill with two other men at his side.

Thanos.

"Commendable, I must say," Thanos taunts, "You put up more of a fight than other planets. And for being a small part of the entire human race, I must say you have my respect for holding your ground."

A whistle blows, and the Outriders return to Corvus on the hill. All that was left were the Avengers and Wakanda's Dora Milaje. People would assume it was a surrender... but something was off.
