As Moxi and I walk over to the other 6 recruits, we see a few of them sweating. What's wrong with them? I think as we all stand at attention in a line. As I look forward, I see a woman with long silver hair with a black dress sitting on top of the base with her legs crossed. "Vale, what was the point of showing off?" Her soft voice rips through me and rattles my bones. I see 2 of the other recruits fall to the ground beside me. Vale laughs and looks back to her. "Nice to see you too Sheeva, I suppose your mission was a success since you're here?" Vale asks as she jumps off the roof and lands without making a sound or kicking up any dirt or dust. "My mission was quite easy, it was only three weak demons." As her voice echoes through the world around me, I notice all birds and animals have stopped calling out and making noise. A creeping fear sweeps through me as the window slightly blows against me, but even it is quiet now. "She's beautiful." I mumble to myself as she suddenly appears at me. Whereas I would normally jump away in fear, I remain standing, analyzing her face and features. She stands almost 5 foot 5 inches tall. "Vale, who is this?" She says in a calm and relaxed voice as Vale smiles. "He's one of the 2 prodigies you were informed of." Vale says as I notice the slightest twitch from her left arm. Duck! I quickly fall back to the ground as her fist contacts my hair. "What was that?" I mumble thinking about the voice I just heard in my head. "You're right, his reflexes are extraordinary." She says as she starts walking away. "He dodged my slow punch, for a human he is quite impressive." She says as she walks away. "Sheeva, huh." I mumble as Vale helps me too my feet. After she walks into the building Vale pats my shoulder. "Good job, you're already on her good side. But then again, thinking about it, you either dodged or died." Vale says while laughing nervously. "She would have killed a recruit?" I ask as he nods. Moxi quickly steps toward Vale. "So, what is the upper structure of the DAHC? I remember the old structure of the DHC had 5 generals. Which always seemed like a horrible idea to me, have you refined the structure any?" Moxi asks. He's not directly asking, but I can tell he's curious about Sheeva's rank. Vale smirks. "Our military is basically the same as the United States army, just the collective military for the world instead of 1 country. My rank is Lieutenant General. I'm the 3rd strongest in the DAHC. Our General rank belongs to Nixon Mercer. The General of The DAHC is Sheeva Adamace." Vale says as Moxi laughs. "Sinclair's brother is still a General?" He says as I look to him. "You mean the previous General, Sinclair? Raven still seemed upset you knew so much." I say as Moxi nods. Vale quickly speaks up. "You two have met and talked too Raven?" He asks as Moxi laughs. "Yea, and we fought him." He says proudly. Vale sighs and smiles slightly. "Should've figured. So that's why your principal said you had made a huge mistake." Vale says as I squint slightly. "Um, what do you think he meant by 'we made a huge mistake'?" I ask as Vale laughs. "You're definitely on their radar by some means now. If you fought Raven, it would've given him the idea that you are hostile towards Demons and Angels." Vale says as I frown. "Oh, well that doesn't sound good." I mumble as Vale sighs. "For super intelligent guys, you 2 are also idiots." Vale says as he shakes his head. "Anyways, it's time to start training." He says as he wakes up the 2 that passed out earlier. As they stand up Vale points behind us. "You are currently standing on a 7 by 7 mile training ground. A energy barrier separates the edge of this block from the rest of the world. Your current task is run to the edge 7 miles that way. I will meet you all down there. If you aren't there in the next hour, I'm coming to find you." Vale says with a evil grin. One of the recruits step forward. "That means we have roughly 8 minutes to run each mile!" He says with a shaky voice as Vale laughs. "Then better get going, don't want to waste any time, right?" Vale says with a grin. While everyone else stands around in slight disbelief, Sorin, Moxi and I start running as fast as we can. Sorin vanishes while Moxi and I both understand that were racing each other to be the best human recruit. After 3 miles my heart starts hurting slightly. I push through the pain and run faster. After constant running with only the idea of winning, we reach the wall. We both fall to the ground gasping for air. "52 minutes, not bad." Vale says while laughing. We quickly look up while still gasping. "How quickly... did you... get here?" I say while breathing heavily between words. "It took me about 2 seconds, but I didn't wait here the entire time. After about 3 minutes I became thirsty and went for coffee. I then quickly returned here and waited some more." Vale says while looking at the clouds. Asshole, I wish I could move that quickly. I think to myself as I sit on the ground and catch my breath. After several minutes only 3 other recruits get to us. "So, 6 of 8 made it in the time limit." Vale mumbles as he vanishes. A few minutes later he re-appears. "And then there was 6." He mumbles as we all look at each other, some of the other recruits still gasping for air. "But Sir, there only 5 of us here?" One of the other recruits say. "Oh no, Sorin got here in 20 seconds. He's currently back at the base waiting on us." Vale says as Moxi and I sigh. "I figured as much, I could tell by how he carried himself he was not completely human." Moxi says as I laugh.
