"But back to the topic of trying to find a weapon for you, let's just start you off with a standard sword. You don't have enough energy to destroy it, so it'll serve you well." He says while looking at me. As he turns to Moxi, I see Moxi smile. "I think you'd be good using a metal staff." Lastis says as he walks away for a second then returns with a sheathed sword in one hand and a metal pole in the other. He tosses me the sword and Moxi the pole. "They aren't very hard to use, but if we need too, I'll train you both on how to use them." Lastis mumbles as he walks out of the room and signals for us to follow. He leads us through their small base, showing us a few rooms, they have to work in. He leads us back into the room we appeared in and I notice a circle on the ground with symbols filling it in. "What is that?" I ask as he looks at it. "That is our teleporter. Due to our arrangements with the DAA, they have demons and angels help us move from place to place quickly. We have to place markers down for them to transport us, since it wasn't known to be possible until the last few years, and they haven't quite mastered it yet." He says as Moxi laughs. "So why doesn't the general public have access to teleporters? That could make travel much faster and safer." Moxi asks as Lastis sighs. "It would be safer if it wasn't for the fact that every now and then a limb or two doesn't get teleported with the host. Imagine wanting to go to a vacation island, but you arrive with no legs. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Anyways, that's why only DAHC personnel is allowed to teleport via gates. We have a healing ability, normal humans do not." He says as I nod. "That makes sense." I say as he starts filling out paperwork on a desk. He soon pulls out a phone and texts someone. "I'm not a lightning fast soldier like some, so I have to text my requests." He says as Moxi chuckles. "Alright, everyone on the gate." He says as he steps onto the 4-foot-wide circle. "We have a smaller contract to fulfill really quickly. Then after that, we have 3 others." He says as Attira and Fallyn jump onto the gate, the Moxi and I. a white light once more wraps around us as a heavy feeling sets on me. As I blink a few times I see large trees all around me. A thick group of foliage surrounds us and a drop of water hits the top of my head. "Where the hell am I?" I hear Moxi mumble as I look around to see large trees with thick green leaves and vines hanging down. "We're in a rainforest. Apparently, there's a demon terrorizing local villagers." Lastis says as he quickly summons a sword to his hand. He cuts through the leaves and carves a path forward. Faint energy floats through the air as we walk through the forest. "What is that?" I ask as Attria laughs. "You're so cute, that's the demon we're after." she says as I hear a loud crash in front of us. The air gets hot as we run forward through the thick forest bottoms. Attira pulls a knife out of her pocket, and Fallyn pulls out a pair of gloves and puts them on while we're running. We run through a thicket into a small clearing and see a beast holding something. A four-armed demon with two mouths holding half of a human torso. As blood and guts string and drip from its maw, I feel sick. The wafting stench of death permeates the air around us. As the demon turns to us and stands up onto its two long legs, it lets out an ear ringing scream. As I flinch a little bit, it charges us. I quickly draw my sword with shaky hands as I see Moxi charge the demon and swing his pole towards it. It bites down on it then flings Moxi through a tree and into the forest. "Moxi!" I yell out in anger as I try to force myself to move. Move Malick. Move god damn it. You need to move! I think to myself as I see Lastis yelling back at me. I can't hear him, but I can tell he's angry. His temporary slip of attention from the demon to me creates an opening for the demon. I see it pick him up and throw him towards the tree that Moxi went through. The demon then ignores Attira and Fallyn and charges straight for me. Galloping, its flesh shakes, almost looking like it'll rip or burst at any second. It quickly lunges towards me as my vision slightly goes dark. "Why am I so useless?" I mumble to myself as a sharp ripping pain fire through me. As I try to scream, all I hear is laughter. Not a laugh I haven't heard before. My own laugh echoes around me as light floods my vision. As I squint at the sudden bright light. I feel a numbness in my left arm. I look at my left arm and see cuts and burns all over it. My shirt also seems to be missing and my pants are cut up. "What happened?" I mumble as I turn around and see Vale pointing a sword at me. "Nice to see you've calmed down." He says as he sighs and lowers his sword. My eyes widen as I see the entire forest in ashes around me. "What happened?" I ask as Vale rubs the back of his neck. "Well, that's a good question. I've never seen a DAHC agent do what you did. But we will talk about that more when we get back to the main facility. All you need to know, it that your team is fine and safe. I lead you away from the fight." Vale says as I notice a cut on his hand.
