Vale raises his hand and points back towards to base. "Now since you all did so well in getting here in under an hour, I'm only asking you to get back to the base in an hour and seven minutes." Vale says as he teleports away. I hear a collective sigh across the five of us as we all start running. Moxi and I are once again racing each other and quickly leaving a few of the recruits behind. One recruit is managing to keep up with us. A fit man with a buzzcut, wearing cargopants and a short-sleeve black shirt. We all continue to run, every now and then slowing down to quickly catch my breath before sprinting some more. Every time I stop, I notice Moxi gets further ahead of me. "Does he never have to stop to breathe?" I mumble as I take a deep breath and start running as fast as I can. I quickly catch up and pass him. I push myself to my limits and run as fast as my legs will take me. A streaking pain rips through my chest and stomach as I stumble. I quickly recover and start running once more. After about 53 minutes I arrive at the door to the complex. Gasping for air I fall to my knees and try to calmdown my racing heart. I hear a slow sigh next to me. I see Moxi breathing slowly with his eyes closed. "How are you not dying?!" I raise my voice as Moxi lets out a sigh and looks at me. "I've been running cross country and track and field for about a year, so I know how to conserve my breath and run fast and far without wasting any energy." He says as he smiles. I sigh and continue to breathe in and out. After several more minutes, Vale walks out of the base and looks at us. "Only 5 of you made it back?" He asks as the man with the buzzcut steps forwards. "Yes sir, that is correct." He says while breathing heavily. Vale sighs and teleports away. A few seconds later he reappears with a wide smile on his face. "At least we still have five very promising recruits." Vale says with a smile. He waves for us to follow him into the base. We all quickly line up behind him as he leads us down the stairs to a room marked "2B". I place my hand against the concrete walls and to my surprise they are quite frigid to the touch. "This is where to all will exercise at first." Vale says as we see a large room full of weight lifting equipment. He quickly leads us down another floor to "3B". "This is where you will eat your 3 meals a day for the next week." He saysas he leads us past tables, chairs, vending machines, and cooking equipment. "4B"."Floor 4 is where you will all be sleeping. Hope you didn't expect five-star comfort." Vale says as we look at all the metal frame beds with thin covers. A few doors on each side of the room, I can only imagine that they are bathrooms. The pinnacle of comfort obviously. I think to myself as he leads us down to floor "5B". As we walk through the doorway, we all see several machines with needles hanging over medical beds. Several carts covered with syringes with different color tags. "This is where we will be giving you the energy from different demons and angels we've harvested." Vale says as I quickly speak up. "Harvested? And what is with the different color tags on the syringes and capsules?" I ask as Vale laughs. "That is that type of energy we've taken. And whenever you kill a demon or angel, they secrete alittle of their energy. All we do is make sure to harvest that energy for future use. Also, the color of the tag dictates the color of the energy." Vale says as one of the recruits speaks up. "Does the color of the energy matter?" he asks as Vale nods. "In order from weakest to strongest, the colors of the energies go as such: yellow, green, orange, blue, red, black, purple, gold, white, silver." Vale says as I look at the tags. "You don't have any purple, gold, white, or silver tags, why is that?" I ask as he sighs. "I just explained that. Those energies are far stronger than any DAHC agents. Purple energy beings alone would take the 5 strongest DAHC agents just to beat." Vale says as the man with buzzcut walks over to a syringe with a green tag. "When do we get to use these?" the man asks as Vale laughs. "Well Johnny, I was planning on bestowing energy upon you all tomorrow, so you'd truly understand how much stronger angels and demons are than humans." Vale says as Johnny quickly pops the cap off the green tagged syringe and injects it into his arm. "I must grow stronger!" He yells as Vale laughs. "I didn't even get to warn you about the side effects." As the words leave Vales mouth Johnny falls to his hands and knees. He vomits blood as I watch on with a slight fear creeping through me. "Absorbing the energy and life force of another being can kill you if your will power isn't strong enough, or if your too weak for the energy to recognize you as a wielder of it." Vale says as Johnny continues to vomit blood and yell in pain. "Good for you, it recognizes you as its wielder." Vale says as Johnny collapses. Moxi quickly speaks up. "Does absorbing energy always hurt?" Moxi asks as Vale shakes his head. "Hypothetically, if your will power is vastly greater than the energy, then it shouldn't force your body to acclimate. However, the training to control your energy would still rip your muscles severely and shatter your bones. So, either way, becoming stronger will hurt." He says as Moxi walks up to the Syringe with a black tag. "Then I want this one." Moxi says as he quickly injects that energy into his arm before walking back to me. "If greater will power is all it takes, then we easily have this under control. Right, Malick?" Moxi asks with a grin. I nod as I look at Moxi in amazement. Moxi is incredible.
