"Malick, we need to go!" I hear Lastis yell as the sky lights up. Several streaks of lightning radiate across the sky, creating a bright light. A large dark outline stands between the lightning and us. As thunder slams against the building, a few boxes fall off of shelves and onto the concrete floor. "Malick!" Lastis yells once more as I stand up. "What is that?" I mumble as the area suddenly becomes very hot. I feel a bead of sweat streak down my face as I hear a laugh. "It has been quite some time since I've had to shed my false flesh to fight." A deep voice echoes through the city, and the city quickly goes completely silent. "Move!" I get tackled to the ground as a sharp ringing hits me. "This is bad." I hear Lastis say as I quickly get pulled away. As I snap back into a state of solid thinking, I'm running while being pulled. As we get near a street light, I see it's Attira pulling me. As I look back, I see Moxi and Fallyn running behind us. Lastis is running behind them with his left arm missing. "What's happening?" I ask as Attira grips my hand harder. Lastis is slowly healing back as he catches up to us. "That's Malar's real body. The other body was just a disguise he hid his energy in. He's much stronger in his true form, but he should be less intelligent." Lastis says as the sky lights up once more, revealing a large hand coming at us from in front of us. "Attira!" I yell as I quickly pull her back and throw her out of the way before getting grabbed. His hand is large enough to wrap around my waist. As I'm lifted into the air, another burst of lightning reveals 6 blood red eyes and 3 large horns on his face. He has a human body, just much more massive. As I start to attempt to get free of his grip, he throws me straight up. As I fly straight up, I see Malar start fighting everyone else. After a few seconds, my upward momentum stops, and I start falling straight down. My heart hurts as an unsettling fear of death creeps into me. "I don't want to die. I don't know if this will kill me, but I don't want to die. Please let me live!" I yell as I feel my blood seem to boil. An overwhelming heat causes steam to roll off my body while falling. "This feeling." I mumble as my fear instantly fades away. I close my eyes as I feel the ground getting closer quickly. I quickly open my eyes as maneuver slightly through the air, so I'll land on top of Malar. As I see him lift up Attira with his left arm, I spin forward in the air and slam my left leg down. A loud snap echoes as a sharp pain rip through me once more. As I look, I see my leg is broken in multiple places. I notice blood all over me, but only some of it is mine. I hear a deep booming scream as I look up and to my left. Lightning lights up the area once more to reveal Malar's missing left arm on the ground in front of me. "Don't let him heal!" I hear Lastis yell as Moxi jumps from the top of a sign and punch Malar in the face. As Malar looks to him, Lastis jams his sword into Malar's collarbone. My leg slowly heals as steam continues to roll off me. I see Attira quickly run over to me. "Are you ok?" She asks as I slowly stand up. "Don't worry about me. We have to kill the asshole first." I demand as she quickly stands up. "I don't know what that woman did, but I don't believe she deserved death." I say as Malar turns his gaze to me. His 6 red eyes glowing in the darkness. I use his eyes as I marker as I jump towards him and tighten my fist as much as I can. I feel my fist burning as I make contact with Malar's face. A loud boom rings my ears as I fall to the ground, my hand throbbing painfully. "Pull him away." I hear a familiar voice say as I get dragged back away limply. "What?" I ask as the sky starts glowing. As the sky turns blindingly bright, I see a red-haired man standing in front of me. "Good job, I keep getting impressed by you rookies." Rokkan says as he smiles cheerfully and looks back at us. I notice Lastis, Attira, Fallyn, and Moxi all looking equally confused as I am. "Leena, barrier." Rokkan demands loudly as green energy forms a shield around us. "Leon, funnel." Rokkan says as blue energy wraps around Malar to form a 40-foot-wide tube stretching to the sky. Rokkan holds his hand up and sighs. "But I do apologize, I had no idea you would be wrapped up in this. Especially when you're supposed to be on the other side of the planet. But I would like to consider all people who I get along with my friends." He says as I see red lines roll up his forearm. "And no one hurts my friends." He mumbles as he brings his hand down towards Malar. "Bastard! You'll die for t-" Malar doesn't even finish his thought as a bolt of lightning fills the entire energy funnel, then proceeds to strike another several thousand times in a row. Blinding white light followed by booming cracks and explosions echoes for miles as we all stare on in disbelief. "Rokkan. He's a monster." I mumble as my ears ring and my eyes burn from the onslaught of brightness and loudness. As he stops, the energy barrier and funnel both dissipate. All that remains is a several hundred-foot-deep hole in the ground. "Again, I apologize for intervening, but you would not have beaten him. I sensed a full first release still being unused." Rokkan asks as I stare at him.
