Prologue

"She's a problem that we have to deal with. "

"You can't just abandon her, we need to look after her better. "

"Get rid of the child, everywhere she goes there is some kind of trouble. "

You tried your hardest to block out the many voices that are debating whether to keep you or not. This had been your life ever since you'd lost your parents. You were no older than six when it happened.

You couldn't even remember how they had died. You got vague flashes of blood and tears but never anything solid. When you were discovered, the police had said it was a robbery. A flash of a woman laying of top of you bloodied was an image you kept seeing. Blue eyes were a constant in your memories, soulless sapphire orbs that were begging for help. Screams were echoing as you pressed your hands against your ears to block out the sounds.

"I'll be back for you mage.."

Your eyes shot open as you sat up breathing heavily. Your body was now covered in sweat as you tried to calm down your heart rate.

"Damn dream again.. " gripping your shirt tightly you clenched your teeth. Throwing the covers from your body you stepped out the bed reluctantly.
