"Are you sure this will work?" Kali asked from the driver's seat of the car. We were parked in front of G's house on the opposite side of the street. The plan to get Michael's number from G's house was going to be trickier than we thought. It's been a long time since the beach and I don't even know if she still has his number. Hopefully she didn't throw it away.
"Heck yeah. I basically live in that house. Dorin won't mind if I stay until G gets home." I grabbed my backpack and opened the passenger side door. "Drive down the street and park in my driveway. Stay there until I give you the signal, then come get me."
Kali nodded and I got out of the car and she drove off.
The whole navigating around her house part would be easy. I've stayed at G's house for a whole ass week while she was on vacation. I forgot about that trip so I just stayed at her house until she got home.
I walked up to her front door and used my key to open the door. "Mrs. Dorin?" I yelled out into the empty house. I waited a few moments before I heard her respond, "Hey Mills! G's in the shower, but you can chill in her room until she's done."
"Okay thanks!"
Crap. I thought G was gone but apparently not. I'm going to have to make this quick.
I ran up the stairs and made my way to G's bedroom, which was not hard to miss because it's all black. Even the door is black, which she must have painted herself.
The only trouble now would be finding that damn piece of paper. Knowing G, there is a high chance that she kept it. I can see right through her and I know that she misses him. He treated her well and got her through a tough time in her life. Even if he did end up screwing everything up.
I went to her dresser and saw a black diary that was open to today's date. I couldn't help myself and looked at what she wrote.
The first line read...
I no longer have the urge to kill.
Okay. That's enough for me. Should not have looked at that.
I cringed and looked through her drawers and all other compartments in her room. Nothing.
I heard the water in the bathroom turn off. Oh no she's coming.
I decided on one last place to look. Maybe there's a chance that she put it in her diary the day we went to the lake? Worth a shot.
I went back to the journal and opened the diary to the date of the lake party. Sure enough, a water-ruined piece of white paper was laid flat inside. Sweet!
I quickly took a picture of the paper and gathered my things. Quietly, I tiptoed down the stairs and said a quick goodbye to Dorin before exiting the house. I texted Kali to come and get me as I started to make my way down the street. That went better than expected. Now all what I have to do is somehow pretend to be G and get Michael to believe me.
Kali's car came into view and I waited for her to stop. I then entered the car.
"So? How'd it go?" She asked.
"I got it." I buckled myself in. "It was in her diary in between two pages. I was lucky too, she was in the shower."
"Sweet, okay. So when are we gonna send him something?"
"We should wait till the rest of the girls are with us. I have some good ideas." I smirked.
