I ran all over town calling out to Dani. Whoever did that to Lily was probably the same person who had taken her. After fifteen minutes I was exhausted and running out of places to look but I kept going and I was glad I did. As I turned the road to the bank I saw two dark figures at the other end, one a lot smaller, disappearing behind the bank. I ran as fast as I could, desperate to try and catch up to them. When I reached the turning I thought they'd gone down I stopped and peered round. I saw a big, muscly man dressed in black holding a little girl up by her coat - Dani. I was about to run up to them but then I realised what that would mean. This was a huge criminal that had just stabbed Lily and I wouldn't be able to fight him. He would probably stab me too and then run off with Dani, leaving us worse off than before. No, I needed to follow them and find out what he was doing - then stop him before it was too late.
