It only took Jungkook less than half an hour for the drug to do its magic. Hyunsoo was avoiding it as much as possible, especially because she didn't want to go home acting the way Jungkook was. There wasn't a lot between the two, but since Hyunsoo didn't want anything, he ended up having both.
Chen definitely did not give them anything light, she thought.
Usually, people relax and slow down at this point, but with Jungkook it was the opposite. He was getting louder, funnier she had to admit, and weirder, but also restless. At one point, she was shaking so much from the wind, that Jungkook took off his jacket, leaving him in a t shirt, and threw it at Hyunsoo's face without a word. It hit her unexpectedly, and she looked at him annoyed.
He put up a V sign with his hand and said, "Don't steal it, ok? I've had girls try to sell my things before, so just don't do that."
He spoke so seriously with his V sign, Hyunsoo couldn't help but let her annoyance slip away. Watching him act like this was so amusing. It wasn't everyday you get to see this side of Jungkook.
Grateful, but also feeling a sort of strange sensation in her chest, she put on the jacket and immediately felt better. The sun had set by now and the wind had picked up speed. She looked at Jungkook and realised how he might catch a cold like that. He didn't even think for a minute before giving her his jacket. Was he doing this because he was a little high right now? Or was he actually being caring? She didn't want him to sacrifice something for her, just to end up suffering with a cold later on.
After thinking about it for a while, she sat closer to Jungkook against the wall and, taking off the jacket, wrapped it around the both of them. This also caused him to lean closer towards her side, so they could both fit in fully. It worked because it was an oversized jacket.
Jungkook nodded at her in appreciation and said, "Thanks."
Hyunsoo didn't say anything, but could feel the strange sensation not leaving her chest. Both of them felt warm under the jacket, since they were both radiating heat from their own bodies to each other. It felt cosy in there. Hyunsoo was in deep thought for the whole time and stole small glances at his side profile every now and then, to bring up the courage to start talking.
"I thought about what you said earlier," started Hyunsoo, "About Taehyung and Yoongi. I wanted to thank you for telling me these things and for what you said after. I think you're right, I was trying to run away..."
Hyunsoo wasn't sure why she was telling him, but at the same time she tried to get it all out before she changed her mind. She knew she wouldn't get another chance like this, so this was the best time, especially with Jungkook being like this, he probably wouldn't even remember every detail.
"At least you've realised that now." He was looking up at the dark clouds. "When you talk to my friends, don't reveal to them straight away that you know these things," said Jungkook, "Like I said before, they're not big secrets, but still, don't mention much. And be nicer to them, they're my best friends, especially Taehyung, he deserves better from everyone."
Hyunsoo remembered Jimin and thought whether she should bring it up, then decided against it. Hoseok told her not to, and even though he texted Jungkook later, she would still keep her promise. This reminded her...
"What did Hoseok tell you exactly?" asked Hyunsoo, not looking at him. Instead, she followed his gaze and looked up. It was hard to make out any stars in the sky, like she could the night she was with Jimin.
Jungkook laughed at her question for a good while before answering. "Hoseok is a funny guy, so glad we talked. He told me how nosy you were acting and then I ended up asking what was up with your character. You're quite a mystery you know, and Hoseok replied with a plan."
"Plan? What plan?" She was looking at him now, but his face was still facing upwards. Why was he so calm suddenly?
"I told him I would tell you some things, which I did. He said to keep it to a minimal amount, so I agreed. And then we both decided to play with you a little since it's so fun winding you up."
Oh god, Jungkook and Hoseok teaming up? She closed her eyes in horror at the thought of this and opened them just in time to see Jungkook turn to face her. He was looking at her so intently.
"He told me..." he said slowly.
Hyunsoo leaned closer to hear him, at the same time as Jungkook leaned down so their heads were at the same level with each other.
"He said..." Jungkook put his hand behind Hyunsoo's neck and looked her in the eyes only inches away. "That you..."
Hyunsoo's heart was beating faster and faster. What was going on? What was happening to them right now? Was he going to kiss her or something? Was he that high? Will he remember this later on? She didn't even know how to react in the moment, but instead just let Jungkook pull her closer and closer.
"That you're starting to like me."
Hyunsoo's eyes widened. That liar! She screamed into her mind.
