Jungkook was strolling through Hyunsoo's front garden to reach the gates. It was such a big place, but his own house was similar in terms of the amount of land they had. Jungkook, keeping his hands in his pockets and smiling to himself, nodded at the confused looking security guard at the front gates as he walked out. He didn't know why he was smiling exactly, but it couldn't be helped. Now that it was out in the open between the two, Jungkook couldn't stop thinking back on how different Hyunsoo was compared to now.

It felt funny that they were working together now, when in the past she rejected him like the weirdo she is. Jungkook rolled his eyes at that thought and chuckled some more.

There was only one thing he wished hadn't happened though. Jungkook slowed down and thought back on the moment he slipped out Hyunsoo's name when he was with his dad. He had only been trying to figure out if she was the same Hyunsoo that he met in middle school or if it was just a big coincidence. Once his dad heard, he got someone to investigate who she was, since Jungkook's dad is someone who likes to keep tabs on every rich family, especially ones involved in the drug business. Although, something Jungkook never understood was how did hearing her name make him suspicious enough to find out who she was?

There was no point thinking about that now. It already happened. The good thing was that Hyunsoo was kind enough to have forgiven him, not that he would admit anything to her, he already apologised and they're over it, and anyway, it was his dad who forced him to spy on her. He didn't have a choice while constantly being watched.

The truth was, he felt bad. He felt bad for what he did, everything he'd done in the past, and what he would probably continue doing, only because he can't oppose his dad. Jungkook was secretly relieved to have found Hyunsoo who had a similar goal with her own family. Again, not that he would explicitly tell her all this. She already knew he wanted all this drama to stop...

His phone began to vibrate in his pocket. Pulling it out and checking the screen, he smirked and answered. "Hey babe, sorry about earlier. So, you coming to mine then?"

Hyunsoo kept replaying the incident over and over in her mind. She couldn't believe Jungkook had tried to talk to her back in middle school. What was more surprising was the fact that he recognised her all those years after. He seemed a little amazed at himself too, judging from the tone of his voice over the phone. He had called her the same day in the evening, catching her up on what he didn't get to finish.

"This is so weird." Hyunsoo had said after Jungkook was done retelling the past.

"Very," he agreed, "but weren't my pictures more concerning for you?"

Hyunsoo had already given the photos back to Kenny, but the pictures were burned into her brain. She could almost see Jungkook down on one knee, extending an arm out with his gun and shooting at something. The mental image of it almost made her laugh.

Jungkook must've heard her hold back, since he then said, "What? Something funny?"

"Why wouldn't it be?" she said, letting out her laughter a little. "I never thought you'd turn out to be such a gangster."

Jungkook joined her, sniggering. "Never thought you'd turn out to be, oh wait, you still are a Miss little 'that won't be necessary'."

"Oh, shut up! That's all in the past."

"You sure about that?"

He laughed right into the phone, making Hyunsoo squeeze her eyes shut and move the phone away in annoyance.

After some time, Jungkook finally got a little more serious and told her what he was meant to tell her that morning before he left. "I have a plan. I think, if we sabotage the directors meeting, we can stop any future plans and make the business fail somehow. Basically, we need to ruin the meeting. Are you with me so far?"

Hyunsoo let the silence hang in the air for a whole minute, before she said, "Is this some kind of movie you're wanting to shoot? We can't do anything like that, not that it will work anyway."

"Then what? Have you thought of anything? Whatever it is, should be for the meeting coming up. It's a pretty important one after all."

"Why don't we just plant your stupid voice recorder in that meeting somehow? With more information of what's happening, we can actually do something about it and plan things accordingly."

Jungkook must have liked the idea, since he didn't reject it right away. "And how are we going to leave the recorder in there, may I ask?" he said instead.

"Jae will be there, right? We can use him. Not just for this, but for anything in the future. He will be easiest to get closest to."

"What do you mean by close?" It was as if Hyunsoo could almost hear him smirking through the phone. "Are you going to seduce him, leave the voice recorder in his pocket, then make a run for it?" His voice went a little deep as he finished speaking.

Hyunsoo felt herself heat up at the cheeks. "No! What are you saying? I didn't suggest anything like that!"

"Oh, but I think it's a great idea. I can teach you a thing or two, you know. Seeing as you probably don't know anything on the art of seduction."

"Jungkook," warned Hyunsoo, "Just, stop. You know that's not what I meant."

"Fine." He was chuckling though. "Don't get so upset, it's a joke. Every girl has different traits. You're just cute."

"Cute?" Her cheeks were really hot now.

"And anyway," continued Jungkook, not hearing Hyunsoo's flustered self. "It's not like I'd let you do that even if it was your plan. That's just rubbish."

"Y-yeah..."

Hyunsoo rolled over her bed and punched the pillow. Why did she have to get so nervous when Jungkook had said that?

It was the next morning and she was still thinking about the phone call. She hated dwelling on feelings like this, when she knew perfectly well that it didn't even matter so much to him as much as it bothered her.

Her phone began calling out, with Jae's name appearing at the front, just when Hyunsoo was about to turn the other way and go back to sleep. It was extremely early to be alive. Still, she picked up, curious to hear why he was suddenly calling her.

"Hello?" she answered.

There was a loud noise in the background, but Jae's voice spoke clearly. "Hey! I hope you weren't sleeping still, but I figured someone like you would probably be up and ready by now."

It was 5am.

"Uh huh." Was all she said in reply.

"Well, actually, I called because you never replied to my last text. I asked if you wanted to come for my birthday. It's on the 1st January and I've invited a lot of friends to celebrate. No family, meaning your parents won't be here, as well as my own. Aaaaaand everyone else's." He laughed. Hyunsoo didn't.

Jae sounded like he was multi tasking while taking to her, like he was a little too occupied. That made answering him all the more easier, as she didn't have to put too much effort in.

"Sure. Can I bring a friend along?"

"Of course!" He sounded happy at her response. "I'll speak to you later then. Bye!"

He hung up.

Wow, thought Hyunsoo, staring at her phone.

She had thought that this was the perfect opportunity to do something about the meeting and the voice recorder, though it might not work out, but no harm in trying. She then had a different thought about Jungkook being there for Jae's birthday. There were no actual families involved though, meaning there would probably be way more girls to flirt with.

"Well, I'd better let Jungkook know his new year plans..." she muttered to herself aloud.

He was either going to hate it, or love it. There was no middle here.
