Jungkook didn't have to try. He knew he fell right into place no matter where he went. All he had to do was put on a suit, move his hair around a little from his after shower state, and maybe throw in a watch. That's why he went to the building that was holding the board meeting so confidently. Only, he wasn't attending it. Instead, he arrived much earlier than the set time to plant the voice recorder that had turned up at his house just the day before. He remembered how he had asked Hyunsoo to make the delivery to his house, since his blanket had also been a part of the purchase.
To be honest, Jungkook himself didn't know why he bothered to bring the voice recorder here and carry the plan out. All he knew was that he and Hyunsoo went through a lot of effort finding out the date for the board meeting, so he was not going to let that go to waste. Retrieving the recorder was all up to Hyunsoo though. He didn't care right now whether she would even consider checking here or not, but he wasn't planning on telling her what he was doing either. Most likely, the recorder's battery would die, and when he felt like it, he'd let Hyunsoo know.
What was the point of all this? Jungkook himself didn't know. It was an act done mostly out of guilt, and lots of anger.
After this, he was officially going to stop getting involved with Hyunsoo and her family. He had problems of his own to handle anyway, and he wasn't bothered to deal with the way he had treated Hyunsoo at Jae's birthday party either. It was all dust swept under the rug for him.
Everything went according to plan once Jungkook got there. No one in the building stopped him, and when someone finally did, they took one look at his menacing looking bodyguard and faltered, probably assuming that he was supposed to be here after all. There was no other real security here, since no one from the underground companies had arrived.
What useless fools, thought Jungkook irritatingly. He was in a very bad mood since the moment he had received the delivery. He couldn't believe he bothered to come all this way just to do this one little thing, but he knew it would pester him until it was done, and he couldn't just throw it away either. He just had to get the stupid recorder delivered to his own house.
Things continued going well for Jungkook, as he ordered William, his bodyguard, to tape the recorder just behind the surveillance camera in the meeting room. It hadn't been too difficult getting into this room either.
"Sir, the security seems too easy to have gotten past, no?" said William, looking around seriously.
Jungkook nodded, but shrugged. "Place sucks. We'll be out of here in no time anyway."
When Jungkook said 'we' he really meant himself. William was in charge of removing all traces of Jungkook having been here at all, which meant taking care of the people they passed by and who were in charge of the surveillance cameras. It didn't take too long though. Jungkook was waiting in the foyer of the building as calmly as he could in his current mood when William arrived back promptly and nodded.
Without another word, they marched outside and went straight for their black tinted navy car, with William heading towards the drivers seat and Jungkook for the back seats... except, they didn't make it in time. Jungkook knew the plan had gone too smoothly for it not to have gone wrong somewhere else.
Jae of all people seemed to step out of nowhere and stood in front of Jungkook, smiling and looking at him intriguingly. Jungkook didn't bother returning any sort of smile, not even a smirk, but made sure the frown on his face was clear enough for Jae to notice. William, on the other hand, went into position just behind Jungkook, keeping a hand ready to pull out any one of the concealed weapons in case he needed to use them in this situation. All he needed was the young boss' signal.
