It won't be so bad, my butt! Was the thought screaming in Hyunsoo's mind during the next day. Jungkook hadn't replied to her message so she didn't even know if he had seen it, or if he was continuing to ignore her. She regretted the text so much and felt bad for ignoring him in the first place. She should've heard him out or something and listened to his reasons, but no, Hyunsoo had acted stubborn because she was too caught up in how she felt.

In order to divert herself from these thoughts, Hyunsoo decided to spend the afternoon with Hoseok, catching up with him at their favourite dessert place. It was supposed to be a quick meet up, but Hyunsoo ended up filling him in on the latest Jungkook incidents, which wasn't what she planned to do because this was supposed to be a distraction.

Hoseok told her that she did good by texting him. He also apologised for the joke he made about her liking Jungkook. Hoseok said he had gotten carried away because he forgot the line between her and Jungkook. He also told her that he hadn't spoken to Jungkook since that night of the drug party. This didn't surprise her, since Hoseok probably didn't want to be the guy in the middle, and anyway, he was more of a friend to Hyunsoo than Jungkook. The two had only just recently become friendly with each other. She was glad he was by her side though, Hoseok was her best friend after all.

It wasn't until the evening when Hyunsoo finally ran into him at the library. She had been going to print some things off for her 'Artist Research Page', and had sat on the same computer she was on when she came in with Jimin and Taehyung. There were less people here today, so it made it easier to spot Jungkook. Still, Hyunsoo wouldn't have missed him even in a crowd. He stuck out to her so much it made her wonder... maybe it was her looking for him, rather than it being a coincident...

Jungkook was walking down the row of computers and looked as if he was planning on ignoring her, when suddenly Hyunsoo jumped up from her seat and stood in front of him. At first, he didn't look at her and tried to go around her, but Hyunsoo slid to the left in front of him again. She was determined to speak with him so didn't want to let this opportunity pass by. That sparked the comeback of their eye contact and made Hyunsoo's heart beat faster. Their stare was so intense, it made her feel as though Jungkook was looking right through her.

After about a minute, someone nearby cleared their throat and said loudly, "I think you guys should take this outside."

Hyunsoo and Jungkook looked at him and found him pointing towards a group of people just watching them. Hyunsoo felt herself heat up, while Jungkook didn't react. He quietly took her by the arm and dragged her all the way to the entrance of the library, pushing Hyunsoo down to the bench situated outside.

"I saw your text," he spoke first. "What is it?" He was looking at her directly in the eye, making Hyunsoo nervous before she even opened her mouth and thought about how to say what she wanted to.

"I know it's been a while, but I decided to finally talk to you about what happened." Hyunsoo avoided looking back at him. Instead, she stared at his hair. It looked like he'd taken a nap just before running into Hyunsoo. "I spoke to Darcy yesterday and, he told me that you both didn't mean any of what you did. Is that true?"

Jungkook shrugged. She shivered due to the light wind and stole a quick gaze at his expression. There was something in his face that she couldn't quite figure out. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, and his mouth was a straight thin line. It was as if he was trying to cover up an emotion and wanted to appear like he didn't care. He looked upset, now that Hyunsoo thought about it more.

She continued saying, "I'm still mad at what you said about my mother, and the fact that both you and Darcy spied on me and went through my phone. Those are big things. I want to know why you did it."

It was quiet for a while, in which Jungkook still kept his eyes fixed on her. He seemed to be thinking about what to say, so Hyunsoo stayed patient and tried to calm her nervousness down. What was wrong with her? She never used to get this nervous whenever she spoke to Jungkook.

"I'm sorry," he said, interrupting Hyunsoo's thoughts and making her look at him with a shocked face. "I tried to apologise to you before during our lecture together, but you cut me off completely by choosing not to speak or look at me."

He tried to apologise back then? Thought Hyunsoo, trying to remember. He had been acting strange after all, so it made sense. She suddenly felt worse for the way she treated him.

"And, it's true. Darcy and I got into, some sort of trouble that I can't talk to you about. It started with me, but Darcy wanted to protect me and somehow got involved. I ended up angering people who seem to want dirt on your family, since they're underground rivals. That's also how I found out more about your background before the phone incident," said Jungkook. Hyunsoo couldn't believe what she was hearing, but there was more. Jungkook continued, "It got worse when I ended up mentioning you to the people. I dug my own grave when I told them I spoke to you often, even if it was to annoy you. That's why I did what I did, and same goes for Darcy. It's my fault though, not his."

"I, I'm..." Hyunsoo was at a loss for words. "How did this happen?"

Jungkook didn't seem to hear her though, because he then said, "I realised something during the past few weeks." He looked away from her for the first time since they came outside. He focused his eyes on the science building instead, which was just down the path from the library across. "Ever since we first met, it feels like you've continuously gotten yourself tangled up with me, even without realising it or intending to. I mean, think about it. If we go all the way back to our previous relationships, don't you think it's odd that it just so happened that we were both cheated on, and those two got together at the same time as when we started getting to know each other?"

Hyunsoo thought about it. He was right. It crossed her mind too a few times, but she never knew what to make of it. She also realised that he was now trying to change the topic of the conversation and was attempting to make things normal between them. She guessed that he wasn't comfortable talking about what happened, or maybe he didn't want to reveal too much because he might get in trouble. Nevertheless, she decided to let it go. Hyunsoo could feel that it was something serious, and there was something inside her that wanted to trust him and see what happens, hoping that this issue would be solved.

"I even found myself wondering about you sometimes," said Jungkook, bringing Hyunsoo's attention back to him. He was watching her again, making her feel even more nervous than before, this time due to what he just said.
