"That's a lie!" shouted Hyunsoo right in his face. She couldn't help it, but the fact that Jungkook was thinking that she liked him just made her want to jump out of this place right there and then. "I don't know why he told you that but just take it as a joke. Why would you believe such a thing anyway? You know how we both are..."
Jungkook's smirk was slow dancing on his face, as his eyes glinted in the darkness between them. He hadn't moved even an inch away ever since he last spoke and kept still, leaning down to her face. The position they were in made Hyunsoo's heart beat ten times faster than normal. He suddenly didn't look so high on drugs anymore as he was acting earlier either. There was a flash of amusement pass through his eyes while he listened to Hyunsoo talk, that made her feel even worse and wish she was anywhere but here.
In contrary to Jungkook, Hyunsoo's condition was the opposite. She was huffing with humiliation, and most importantly, she couldn't even meet his eye anymore, which made it look like she did like Jungkook. Hyunsoo could feel herself shrink against the wall, as she tried to avoid thinking about the complex emotions stirring in her stomach like it was a potion waiting to boil over and out her mouth. She hated this feeling so much. How could Jungkook make her feel this way so easily? This thought annoyed her. Why indeed?
"I think you and I both know how we really are, no matter what we try to show," said Jungkook in his cool guy tone. His voice had instantly taken itself to the deeper end, and it sounded so natural rather than some people who fake their deep voice.
"What, what do you mean?" asked Hyunsoo. She was in shock at the turning point of this situation.
"I know a good amount of things I wanted to know about you now, señorita," he replied, this time with a little wink. "Darcy is quite the spy. He's sly and good at going through people's phones when they stupidly leave it on the kitchen table for an hour. Oh and, same goes for leaving your phone in the lecture hall when you get up to go somewhere. That one time you didn't leave your phone was quite interesting though, I ended up following you since I needed to go bathroom anyway, and you received a phone call from your mum. Guessing your relationship with her is on the very formal side... that's sad."
Hyunsoo's eyes widened. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. That was such personal stuff, and he was saying it so easily as if this didn't matter too much. He should have known already that she doesn't get along with her family, due to revealing that part when he took her to the hospital, so why was he acting like this? If she had been any angrier, she would have probably strangled him. Also, what was the eavesdropping about? Darcy was spying on her for Jungkook?
"Is that how you knew I was with Jimin at the park?" she asked without thinking, then with a gasp, "And when I took him to my family's dinner!" She only realised after saying this out loud that bringing Jimin up was probably not a good idea.
"I know about the walk to the park... but not the family dinner." His expression turned grim and his tone was hard. "Didn't realise your relationship with him was so close enough for you to bring him home. Didn't I tell you to stay away from him?"
Hyunsoo blinked and finally looked at him. "No." It wasn't so nerve wracking to meet his eye anymore when he wasn't in the teasing mood. Still, the tingling feeling in her stomach hadn't disappeared.
"Well, I'm telling you to stay away now." He moved away from her completely, leaving her covered with his jacket alone.
With some newfound courage, Hyunsoo sat up properly and said to him, "What happened to your attitude now? All gone just because you can't bring yourself to be compared to Jimin? Well, you know what? I prefer Jimin to you. If there was someone I liked, it would be him, definitely not you."
She felt anger bubbling up inside her, especially due to the fact that Jungkook went through her phone! Darcy went through her phone! They eavesdropped on her, and other things that was basically an invasion of privacy. It was making her so mad, she wanted to say anything at all just to hurt Jungkook somehow. However, it seemed that what she had said was enough to make him glare at her in irritation.
At that same moment, there was a familiar voice coming from the garden just below them. It was a voice that made both Hyunsoo and Jungkook turn their heads to the direction it came from.
"Anyone seen Hyunsoo? I heard Jungkook took her somewhere."
It was Jimin asking a group of smokers outside. Everyone was nodding their heads, until out of the group, Chen came out throwing away his cigarette.
"They went upstairs. My guess is to Jungkook's room," said Chen with a slow smile. The rest of the group started grinning. They all seemed to have the same thing in mind.
Hyunsoo watched them and covered her mouth. She wanted to run away from here so badly. Why of all people did Jimin have to find out that Hyunsoo was with Jungkook... in his bedroom! Wait, Hyunsoo stopped and thought, the whole group knew where she was, so did that mean word had gotten around that they were alone together? Was that why Jimin was looking for her in the first place?
Jungkook didn't waste time having any thoughts as Hyunsoo was having. He picked his jacket up, put it on and heaved Hyunsoo up as well, walking her back towards the open window. "Go." One word was enough to make her jump through without hesitation. "But don't open the door to anyone," added Jungkook, as he was coming through next after Hyunsoo and closing his window.
"Why? Jimin is coming for me."
Jungkook stared at her. "Are you deaf? I told you to stop talking to him. You'll just get hurt anyway, no point being with him." He sounded odd while saying this. She wondered why.
At that same moment, there was a loud bang on the door followed by rapid knocking. Jungkook reacted hastily and went against the door, holding it in case Jimin decided to break through. Hyunsoo watched in horror. What was going on suddenly?
"Hyunsoo! Are you in here? Come out!" shouted Jimin, his voice sounding urgent. "Jungkook, if you're in there with her I swear I'll..." The door moved from the force of Jimin trying to shove it open. "Why are you keeping the door closed? Is she a hostage or something? Scared she'll leave you?"
Hyunsoo realised she couldn't bring herself to move or say anything. The scene in front of her was unexplainable in terms of emotion. Jungkook was keeping the door closed with a serious expression on his face, though the odd look in his eyes was still there nevertheless. She did notice Jungkook fidget as Jimin started shouting all those things though. It seemed as though Jimin's words were bothering him.
