Jimin was doing most of the talking with Taehyung and Areum. From what Hyunsoo could see, it seemed that Areum had met a lot of Taehyung's friends by now and she was spending more and more time with him. He did say they were best friends from high school after all. It was nice to see Taehyung so happy, since she used to constantly see him stuck in the middle of the friendship group with Yoongi, Jungkook and Jimin. Hyunsoo knew Taehyung didn't want to leave Jimin out, but he wanted to hang out with the other two as well. It must have been difficult for him to find a balance in the group when there was so much tension due to unknown past events  (something Hyunsoo still hadn't found out to this day).

"It's cool meeting all of you, especially Tae's middle school friends," said Areum, nudging Taehyung from the side. She sniggered and added, "Seems like he was always this weird even back then."

Jimin and Areum laughed together, while Taehyung made a sheepish face that then burst into laughter to join them.

Hyunsoo smiled and watched the group. She felt a little out of place, mostly because she couldn't help thinking about whether Areum had told Taehyung about the cake incident at her house or not.

"What do you study?" asked Hyunsoo, trying to make conversation.

"Forensic Science," she answered, and asked the same question back.

Areum was quite impressed with Hyunsoo's Fine Art course and even asked to see some of her work one day, to which Hyunsoo agreed happily. She seemed like a nice person overall, so Hyunsoo hoped there wasn't much to worry about in terms of her family secret getting out.

"I see Yoongi over there! Let's go talk to him, he looks lonely," said Taehyung with an evil smile.

Areum nodded and the pair left in excitement. After that, Hyunsoo started chatting to Jimin, Hoseok and Joonhyung, while the rest of their group spread out to other areas. It was a lot of fun, joking around and eating all their favourite snacks, as well as rejecting any bypassers offering a selection of pricey drugs to them.

At one point, Jimin even became really hyper and started a dance off against Hoseok in the middle of the room. It was awesome. Hyunsoo and Joonhyung jumped and clapped for them from the side, each hoping no one would pull them in to pull off some of their own non existent moves. Even Jungkook was watching the dance off from the sofa looking like he was trying to contain his excitement, but he couldn't completely. Everyone was into it. Hoseok and Jimin were amazing dancers.

After a lot of dancing and snacking, Hyunsoo went out to the garden on her own for some fresh air. The smoke inside had started making her a little dizzy too, even though none of the people were supposed to be smoking anything inside, for the sake of the others who decided to come to a drug party but not inhale anything. It seemed that things had gotten so crazy that the rule breakers had gotten out of hand.

One in particular acted like he'd gotten weird ideas into his head, as he grabbed Hyunsoo by the waist and pulled her to the side next to the fence as soon as she stepped foot outside. The surprise attack was enough to make her forget to react quickly enough, but luckily, he was too high so his grip around her wasn't too forceful.

"Hey, get away from me!" she shouted and pulled herself free, taking a giant step backwards to avoid his hands if they reached for her again.

Hyunsoo scanned the garden quickly, but the party had gotten so loud and most people here were so out of it that no one even glanced in their direction. People probably thought they knew each other and were just playing around. Besides, she couldn't see any faces she recognised outside. Otherwise she knew they would come to her rescue, definitely. There was no one who could help her.

Hyunsoo sighed, annoyed. She would have to deal with this creep on her own then. How dare he touch her? She didn't want to simply walk away, because he would then go find some other girl to grab. She wanted to get him out of this place, out of this party.

"You don't want some of me?" he asked, giving her a really crooked smile and leaning back against the fence. "Come back here."

This man was not from her uni, she could tell. He was much older, pervy looking and had blonde shaggy hair all over his face. This man, who somehow made his way into the party, could not have been anywhere near Hyunsoo's age. He looked like he was in his thirties instead.

"You need to leave this place right now," she said bravely, putting on a poker face.

"Or what? You'll call the police?" He smiled widely and looked around at all the people smoking in the garden, napping on the ground and in the grass, and other random things that would be hard to explain if the police had walked in here.

"You think that's all I can do?" retorted Hyunsoo. If she scared him enough, maybe he would go, she thought.

Hyunsoo was about to open her mouth again, to try and scare or threaten him out, but the man decided to cut in lazily but irritatingly, "Don't waste my time."

Jheeze, thought Hyunsoo, feeling disgusted. The hosts needed to up their security, especially now that weirdos from outside had started coming in for the drugs.

"Come here!" shouted the man, suddenly looking like he'd gained some more strength as he pushed himself away from the fence and jumped forwards to grab Hyunsoo's wrist, really hard this time.

"What is with you? Get off!" she shouted, flailing her arms around to try and break free. "You creep!" She attempted to kick him, but he used his own leg to protect his vulnerable area.

"Hey!" said a new voice.

The man froze, keeping his hand on Hyunsoo's wrist, but turning his head to see where the voice came from.

"Let her go and leave now, or I will make you regret this moment."

Hyunsoo knew this voice. He was someone she hadn't seen in a long time, but had been very close to her... before the break up. What was he doing here suddenly? He never came to these parties.

"Who're you?" hissed the man, though he loosened his grip on Hyunsoo, probably taken aback by the interference.

"Baekhyun. Are you leaving now?"

Hyunsoo stared at Baekhyun, but he wasn't looking at her. He was watching the weird man very carefully, as if any moment he might do something unexpected. Though, the only thing that happened was the increase in tension and the man's realisation of having lost the upper hand.

Taking this valuable chance, Hyunsoo pulled herself free and went to stand next to Baekhyun. This time, the man didn't look menacing or extra creepy about getting her back anymore, he shrugged instead and left without another word.

Weird. Very weird. Not just that, but also alarming. Something had to be done about this. This only showed Hyunsoo that the drug system was out of control, no matter where she went...

"Hyunsoo," said Baekhyun, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Are you alright?" He genuinely sounded worried.

"Yes," she answered, then waited. Did he come to find her? She didn't want to ask, but she was thankful to him for saving her against the creep. "Thank you," she added.

"No worries. I don't know if this usually happens, but you need to be careful–" He stopped, looking like he wasn't meant to say that. Still, he continued on, "I've been looking for you here for a while now. I need to talk to you. I mean, I would've messaged you to meet up, but I had a feeling that you'd ignore it and maybe even block me, that's if you hadn't already..." he trailed away hesitantly.

"I haven't," offered Hyunsoo.

He sighed in relief. "Can I take that as you don't hate me?"

Hyunsoo didn't answer. She didn't know what to think or say exactly. Instead, she asked, "What did you want to talk about?"
