CHAPTER 1: THE SECOND OPTIONHanaiah Virellares
"DREA is the best, she's intelligent and hard working. But when tough times come, call Hanaiah."
I didn't feel like going to work for the mean time, but I have no choice.
I scoffed and smiled bitterly. Since when did I have a choice anyway? Funny, Hanaiah.
It was my product but all the credit went to her just because some people in the top management was fond of her.
Her small black eyes narrowed, showing a touch of concern. She knew how bad I felt when the top management announced the promotion for Drea.
Everyone was expecting it to be me.
I thought it was me.
But I guess, nothing will hurt you more than your expectation can.
"I'm fine." I faked a smile to go with my statement.
She wrinkled her small nose, as if something irritated it.
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Text? For what?"
I focused my gaze at the files placed on my table. But something was really off, it's too quiet.
I didn't even see Drea wandering around like a bitch.
"Han? Me?
"Saan siya? Bakit daw?" I replied. Why was he keeping his voice low? Naguguluhan na talaga ako sa gawi nila.
"That is what I want to tell you. I can see her thin lips pouting and she even brushed her shoulder-length hair in annoyance.
Duh? It was just the place where I don't wanna go or even just pass by.
But what was it again? Another drama?
Lalaki.
Ah, may bisita siguro ang kompanya. Baka investor? E anong kinalaman ko do'n?
A lot of questions flooded my mind as my feet started to walk faster. But then the man veered his gaze and our eyes suddenly met.
Oh my! Him?
I know that guy! That's the man at the restaubar!
I couldn't move.
