CHAPTER 2: CONVERSATION
"LET me get this straight. Are you here to take revenge on me? Well, I'm sorry, okey? I'm---""I'm not that low. Besides, I don't abuse power." He cut my words with his firm reply.
Oo nga naman. Napakababang rason.
It was the most suitable place to talk since it only had a few customer.
"Then why me? Perhaps you're not informed Drea is the product manager."
Well, my own statement hurts. But that was reality and I had nothing to do against it.
I don't have a wealthy family nor a luxurious life.
She spent a lot of money for her education while I'm just a scholar in a public school back at our province.
"Is that always your tone even when you're talking to someone superior than you?"
Napatikhim ako. "I'm sorry Mr. Clark, nadala lang ng emosyon."
Well, I was just too overwhelmed and forgot to act civil. I glanced at him. Mamaya isipin niyang laki ako sa kalye. Rich people often label rude people as that. Independently, I have to work hard and when you're weak, you always loss.
"I understand. So would you first give me your company's background then let's discuss 'bout your product," sabi niya.
"May sinasabi ka ba?" he asked.
Agad akong umiling.
"Bawal ba magkasakit?" I asked. Ofcourse I was careful with my tone this time.
I nodded in response. Just how many times did I lie this day? Geez self! Umayos ka nga!
Sinimulan ko nang ibigay ang hinihingi niya. The whole time he was just staring at me and he had this habit of looking straight to the eyes, which made me feel a bit awkward.
The name Clark was known in this industry as outstanding business men/woman.
They also gave importance to their private life---that was what I heard.
"I guess we're done?"
His hair went down to his face, so he made a gesture of arranging it.
He looked seriously handsome, taking the word seriously, literally.
"I see, you are good. I'm quite satisfied with the way you explained everything. But I cannot trust pure words alone."
It appears like, he was doubtful.
I already expect him to do the same, but somewhere, deep down, I am hoping he wouldn't.
"Honestly, with your company's background, I should say no."
