CHAPTER 34: FORGOTTEN
THE DAY should be started with a smile. No need to remind myself, the jovial mood was already overbearing. More over, this day is special. Ika-limang buwan na naming magkasintahan.
I stood up with a cheery smile on my lips. I already filed a leave for today a week ago kaya wala akong pasok.
I hearken back the things that we did a month ago. Tight ang schedule ni Vaughnn so we just have a romantic dinner and did some star gazing. Simple and yet meaningful.
I tried calling him to ask for his suggestions and imprimatur as well. Pero walang sumagot. He must be tied-up at the moment.
I just texted him about the plans later.
Naligo na ako at nag-ayos sa sarili. I think I'll have to go to the grocery store and buy some stocks.
I checked for Vaughnn's text. Pero wala pa rin siyang reply.
I'm getting bored and ended up calling Lance. Ilang rings din bago niya sinagot ito.
"Yes, baby?" His voice was husky, halatang bagong gising.
"It's me," seryoso kong sambit. And duh? It's already eleven, regular waking hour pa ba ito?
"Oh, Han, goodmorning," sabi niya. Morning? It's almost noon.
"I wanna go out, can you please accompany me?
"Okey, just wait for me. I'll pick you up later," saad nito. I hanged up and again check for any texts.
I can make use of him the whole day.
"Kain muna tayo?" mungkahi ko. His eyes were fixed on the road.
It's almost twelve, right?" tanong niya. Oo, lampas na nga e.
"Yeah, let's grab your brunch and my lunch," I sarcastically stated. I saw his lips twitched and later on smiled.
"Han, I went home at three in the morning and I think I still have a hang over," sagot nito. Wow. Saan na naman kaya siya galing kagabi? Geez! I don't wanna think about it. For all I know, he might be hooking with some girls and doing all those stuffs.
"What's with the face?" tanong niya. It's my turn to look at him.
I want to eat something hot. I know a restaurant around here," saad niya. He checked the signs and turned right.
I chuckled upon seeing his narrowed brows. Nasa lahi talaga nila ang guwapo, kahit nakasimangot, maganda pa ring tingnan.
"Mas marami kang pera e. Tsaka malungkot ako ngayon, I need a treat," saad ko.
He didn't answer and just parked his car in front of a diner.
