Chapter 44: Proud

"HOY,BABAE? Isang linggo na po ang nakalipas simula nang makauwi tayo pero hanggang ngayon hindi ka pa rin maka-move on."

Jimma's repining pulled me out of my reverie. Sobrang lapit na pala niya sa akin pero hindi ko man lang napansin. I absentmindedly touch my face and indeed, I was smiling. Gosh! I just had a very nice vacation that was really hard to forget. Hindi naman siguro kasalanan na mapangiti habang iniisip iyon, 'di ba?

"What?" I acted as if I'm clueless. One thing to make her tease me even more, was making it obvious that she was right.

"Aba, iniisip mo pa rin 'yong scandal na ginawa n'yo sa bar 'no? Wow! I couldn't believe you could do that! You kissed a man torridly infront of many people! Whoa! Such a wild woman. Where did you keep that?"

My eyes goggled as my hands automatically made way to her mouth. Mabilis akong napalinga sa paligid kung may tao bang nakarinig. Mabuti naman at tila seryoso ang lahat sa pagtatrabaho.

"Jimma? Are you out of your mind?" I asked. The statement was exaggerated,it was just a kiss that lasted maybe about five seconds, but torridly? What the heck? Sobrang hiya nga ako pagkatapos kaya agad kung hinila si Vaughnn palabas.

Marahan na kinuha ni Jimma ang kamay ko at tiningnan ako nang mabuti. Tsk, I wonder what's going on her mind again. Biglang lumaki ang mata niya na senyales na may hindi kaaya-ayang tumatakbo sa utak nito.

"Wait, Vaughnn slept with us that night, did you slip out of my bed and transferred to him while I was sleeping? Did you do it? Did you?"

I attempted to cover her mouth again but she was fast. Iniwasan niya ang kamay ko at itinaas ang panturong daliri saka ginalaw-galaw pakanan at pakaliwa.

"Hoy! Tumigil ka nga. You're thinking too much. I have no plans of doing that, not before marriage. Isa pa, hindi mo lang alam baka bukas makalawa ikakasal na ako," I replied. I decided to play with her weirdness instead since I think my old style won't work anymore.

And yes, I think this one was effective. Napasimangot siya sa akin.

"Ay, iba din. Nakakairita na ang atmosphere rito. Medyo allergic ako sa inlove na mga tao today, I'll take my leave muna, gonna buy some cofee." Suddenly, her tone changed, it sounded like a spoiled brat speaking in conyo. Oh 'di ba? She's really something. Madali siyang tumalikod at naglakad.

"Take care! Anyway, don't buy me foods. Pupunta ako sa opisina ni Vaughnn. I packed lunch for us." Pahabol ko pa. Kadalasan kasi ay hindi na ako nakakakain ng tanghalian dahil busog sa dami ng binbili ni Jimma lagi. That was one thing I've missed about her, she eats a lot. Damay pati ako, pero ang pinagtataka ko ay kung bakit hindi siya tumataba.

Napa-iling ako habang pinagmamasdan siyang naglalakad palayo. After a while, I decided to get back on my work.

Pero ang hirap palang  mag-focus kung binabantayan mo ang oras. Until thank goodness, it's time for lunch.

I bid goodbye to Jimma and dashed out of the company.

It didn't take long reaching Vaughnn's place at hindi na ako dumaan sa information desk, sa halip ay dumiritso na kaagad ako sa opisina niya.

I sat at the long sofa a little bit further on his table. While doing that,I'm imagining him sitting there. Oh! How handsome he might be, leaning back at his swivel chair and loosening his tie, with his two bottons on the upper part open. Gosh! So hot!

My imagination was ruined by a sudden opening of the door.

"Vau---" It was Sam and she choked on her words upon seeing me. Shock and confusion was evident on her face. Noong mga nakaraang araw, sa tuwing nakikita ko siya o nababanggit man lang ang pangalan niya, nasasaktan ako. Pero ngayon, wala akong nararamdaman.
