CHAPTER 39: NOT MEANT TO BE

Han? Do you have time later? I'm craving for chicken curry. Will you pack a lunch for me and send it to my office. I'll be waiting. But if you can't, update me so I can just order 😢

So  Vaughnn now knows how to use emoticon? Great. He learned how to insinuate emotions better. Napatawa ako.

It was later then that I realized the content of his message. It appears like he was taking a step by step process in making our relationship public. First, family, then friends and lastly, co-workers.

Still a speculation, but I'm convinced that it's true.

Him missing me could be just a pose to hide his real intentions. Indeed, a witty one.

Okey, I'll come at 12, you're free that time?

Napag-isipan kong subukan. At one point or another, aabot din kami sa oras na 'yon, so why not now? Ako lang naman ang problema. He doesn't mind at all.

Though I might have a trembling knee later, I'll give it a shot. Just don't act like a dorky, Han.

I stared at the clock hanging at my right side. This will be a great time to go for a grocery. I finally stood up.

I finished at ten, too early and I'm all set. It was after a minute when my phone rang. I expected it to be Vaughnn but it was his cousin.

"Yow," bungad ko.

"Samahan mo ako bukas, Han. Pipili ako ng regalo," sabi niya. My nose wrinkled, probably it's for his girls again.

"Yeah, whatever, just text me later, busy ako ngayon," sagot ko at pinatay na ang tawag.

Hindi na ako mapakali at maya't mayang tinitingnan ang oras. Minabuti ko nang umalis at hintayin na lang siya sa kanyang opisina kung sakaling hindi pa siya tapos sa ginagawa.

It didn't take long and I was standing outside his company.

My heart beat raced again,it felt like my feet are stucked on the ground. I'm even suprised how did I get myself infront of the information desk.

"Yes?" the lady asked.

"I'm looking for Vaughnn. . . I mean Mr. Vaughnn Clark," I reluctantly stated.

The lady smiled and then spoke, "You have an appointment, ma'am?"

"Ah,yes?" It came out dodgy. Hindi ko naman kasi siya natanong. I scolded myself mentally, why did I came here with out even knowing. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

"Name please?"

I hesitated for a moment, then finally, answered, "Hanaiah Virellares."

"Oh, Miss Virellares. Mr. Clark is still on a meeting, but I think it won't take long since they started early. Please wait at the third floor, when you use the elevator, turn left, then right, you will see a room at the furthest corner, please wait there."

Tumango  ako sa kanya at nagpasalamat. I'm busy memorizing her instruction. Pagkapasok ko sa elevator, may nakasabay pa akong  dalawang babae.

"I heard one of the presidents on the meeting was young."

"Yeah, and pretty."
