The next few days had passed with the same routine: Get up, go to the Cypher House, train, and go back to my house to sleep. I hadn't been to school since I left early the day of the field trip. It had been a week.
Yoongi and I hadn't talked about what happened the night I had that nightmare. We still stayed together, but we didn't talk as much. I think we were worried to bring up the subject again. Neither of us wanted each other to die, and we didn't want to think about if one of us did.
We were in the Cypher House training. I was still training with Jungkook, while some of the others had changed partners.
"Now, we need to work on your response speed and determining what your opponent will do next," Jungkook said. "So everyone needs to concentrate and pay close attention..." he explained.
I just stared off. I was so tired and just wanted a break. A break from training. A break from this situation. A break from everyone. I needed some time so I could just calm down and sleep with no worries of what's ahead.
"Y/N!" Jungkook yelled.
A tennis ball was flying towards me, I ducked before it could hit my face.
"What's wrong with you today? You need to be listening," he said, he was starting to lecture me.
"Sorry," was all I said.
He handed his hand out for me to toss the ball back so I did and almost zoned out again.
"How about we take a break? Maybe eat something and get our strength back," Hobi suggested.
"But we just started," Jungkook complained and Hobi glared at him. He could be scary when he wanted to be. "Okay, let's take a break," Jungkook said.
I started to walk out the doors and Hobi came with me.
"Hey, what's going on?" he asked.
"Nothing," I said.
"Don't lie to me, because I can feel what you feel. I know there is something going on, plus you're a terrible liar," he said.
"How does everyone know when I'm lying?" I asked him.
"Because you avoid eye contact and pick at your fingers. Doing that with your fingers is a nervous tick and when you don't want to look at people, everyone knows you are lying," he explained.
"Do I always do that?" I asked him. I was actually surprised.
"Always," he said. "So what's going on?" he asked and looked into my eyes.
I didn't say anything.
"Is it about you and Yoongi? What did he do?" He asked, assuming Yoongi did something.
"He didn't do anything. It was me," I said.
"Well what happened?" he asked and we walked into the woods and sat on a fallen tree trunk.
"I just... I know something bad is going to happen to me and I don't want anything to happen to him," I said.
"So you don't have to worry about him then. Just worry about yourself," he said, trying to figure out my feelings.
"No, Yoongi said that if something happened to me, then he will die, too. Mentally and physically. I don't want that," I told him.
"Well we don't know what the future has planned for us, so don't worry about it. We will figure that out once it comes. But in the end, everything always works out, trust me," he said and touched my arm. I began to feel better, but I didn't think it was only from his words.
"Can you control other people's feelings, too?" I asked him.
"I don't know. It's not like I've tried," he said.
"Well, I think you can, because you just did. I feel different, I feel hopeful," I told him and smiled.
I hadn't felt this way in a while.
"Oh, well I don't know how I did it," he said and chuckled.
"Well, let's go figure it out," I said and grabbed his hand to take him back to the Cypher House.
"Hey, are you ready to get started?"Jungkook asked us when we walked in.
"Not really, we need to figure some things out about our powers' first," I told him.
"But I thought you said you need to learn to fight before you try to with your powers," he said.
"We have to learn to use our powers anyways, which is what we should do now. It will take longer to learn to deal with our powers, than it will to fight," I told him.
"Fine, I guess Tae and I should go then," he pouted and started walking towards the door.
"No! We still need you all," I told them.
"For what? We don't have powers," Jungkook said, he was upset he didn't have his powers... yet.
"You can help us, watch us, and see things that we not be seeing that can help. Another perspective always helps," I said.
"Okay, so what exactly do you want us to do?" Tae asked.
"Just sit and watch us. Tell us if there is anything you notice," I told them, hoping something that was about to happen would trigger their powers.
