"I can see why you and Tony are friends. You both have a subtlety factor of zero."
Regaining consciousness hurt, my migraine intensifying through the rattling of chains. Once my vision ceases to waver I can finally gain some focus on my dark surroundings. Although I have no clue where I am, I recognize a familiar head of brunette hair from the platform. As she types away at the keyboards in front of her I hopelessly try and understand what's on the screen.
Hearing the yank of bindings I glance over to see Tony bound in a similar way, zip ties holding our hands above our heads. Watching Maya spin around on her chair, Tony ceases his actions as my own frustration grows. Drawing in some energy from around me I feel it began it fill me before a sudden shock of electricity shoots through my neck, up into my head. Gritting my teeth at the small charge I find myself glaring at Maya, her hand holding a remote between her fingers.
Narrowing my eyes down at her, I grit out "Seriously?"
"A spike in that collar has tapped into your nervous system", Maya explains to me calmly under my hard stare. "Transmitted data appears on the monitor just above your head. Once the bar turns a colour other than green..." Trailing off Maya holds up a small silver remote "Well I get to use this." I remain silent, deciding not to give her the satisfaction. I should have left that woman in the rubble back in Malibu. Placing the remote down, Maya's eyes flicker fondly to Tony "Just like old times huh?"
