"Tony what the hell! It's midnight!" I irritably snap from under my blanket on the sofa.
"Turn to channel nine." Rolling my eyes I rub the sleep from them. Bringing myself back to the land of the living. "Have you done it yet?"
Groaning I peel back the pink blanket, staggering from the sofa through the fire lit room to find the remotes on the kitchen island. "Working on it", I mutter groggily over the line "I can't build an AI into my apartment." Jumping back into the couch cushions I cross my heels underneath me. Turning the tv on that sits above my fire hearth. Flipping the channel over I drop the remote. The room is filled to the brim with reporters and press, many voices echoing around the room. Along a huge best cabinet sites dozens of official looking government agents who mutter unseen amongst themselves. When the camera zooms in on a familiar blonde head I warily ask Tony "What the hell am I witnessing?"
Almost too smug for his own good Tony replies "That's your hearing Sparkles. Looks like they've also called Roger's in to bat for you."
Lips parting slightly, I anxiously hum "I'll call you back." Despite his protests I hang up wanting to listen to this on my own. Sat behind a mahogany desk Steve's confident gaze doesn't seem intimidated by the cabinet rows leering over him. Like a rock in a rushing river he stares them down.
Once Steve is sworn into telling the truth, the large senator who sits in the top chair doesn't hold back. "The following questions have been accrued from the senators who sit before you. As per request, I will read them out for you and as you have been sworn to do you will answer them honestly. Do you understand Mr. Rogers?"
"I do."
"How do you know Adeline Collins?" he asks Steve, most likely beginning with the easy questions first.
"I met her on a SHIELD helicarrier", Steve answers truthfully "The Director brought our team together to locate the Tesseract which had fallen into Loki's possession. She was the first Avenger I fought beside."
