"Wow. Look at all your personal growth."
"You've all turned me into a better person. It's awful."
By the time Clint and I make it to Steve's location they seemed to have somewhat cleared the area. A robot would pop up every now and again but for now Ultron seems to be reassessing his strategy. I take the break gratefully, hands on my knees as I try to catch my breath. With the city continuing to climb in altitude the air is growing thinners by the second. "Don't tell me you're getting tired", Nat comments from behind me.
Peering over my shoulder I see her walking over by Steve's side. A smug grin on her lips as Steve ushers people inside the building. "Eh", I push myself to straighten up "I wouldn't say no to a power nap. Maybe a redbull." Standing beside me, the two of us gaze out over the white clouds Sokovia has been swallowed amongst. No telling anymore just how high we've flown. "You know as far as weeks go", I murmur "This's been a weird one."
I hear Natasha humming in the agreement above the cries of civilian's behind us. Still trapped together on this rock. "Kinda miss when my biggest problem was you," Nat mutters "Not killer robots flying a city into the sky."
Feeling a smile tug at my lips I peer over to Natasha. Think it's safe to say a similar smiles reflected on my lips. Despite our complicated history, Natasha's always been constant. A constant pain in the ass, but she's always been there. I've gone from being her assignment to being her friend; her family. I throw my arm over Natasha's shoulders, I tug her tightly against my side "I'll be a pain in your ass for as long as you live."
Smirking, her arm loops around my shoulders "Lucky me."
"You are," I laugh under my breath "I'm not normally this committed to anyone."
"Except your hidden Romanian secret boy toy."
My eyes roll but the smirk resting on my lips does nothing but deepen, "Maybe later we can steal Tony's best bottle of bourbon and I'll let you in on some of my secrets."
"Still not good enough to know his name?"
Sliding my gaze to her, I tell Nat "If it makes you feel any better you'd be the one I tell first."
