"That's an oddly attractive improvement to your eternal baby face."
"Stop it"
"I'm serious. You've gone from I'll have your daughter back by ten to your daughter calls me da-"
"Addie"
Stepping out of the portal I decisively begin storming the Avengers HQ in upstate New York. The strange looks I receive when I pass by the workers doesn't go unnoticed. Reverting my gaze to the corridors in front of me I naturally find my way through the building with surprisingly no guns pointed in my face. It's interesting considering the government still has me as a labeled fugitive.
Breezing through an office bullpen, I outstretch my hands "Can someone point me in the direction of James Rhodes!" Met with an eerie silence by dozens I impatiently groan "Anyone at all!"
"Conference room!" a voice shakily shouts back at me.
Quickly wishing whomever that was an abrupt thank you I stalk off through the halls, storming through the corridors on a mission. Taking a sharp right where I know the conference room is I find Rhodey already speaking to government officials, Secretary Ross included.
"Like I've told you" Rhodey tiredly states to the holographic table with a sigh "The vessel had no markings. No country has claimed the attack-"
"I know exactly who attacked", I smugly stroll into the room with a knowing grin towards the holographic government officials "And it's going to have you guys sweating in your leather-bound Gucci seats."
"Adeline Collins", Secretary Ross groans in utter disdain for me "Apologies if we don't take the word of a common criminal and universal fugitive-"
"Mute" Whilst Ross keeps speaking no sound comes through, the conference room is enveloped in quiet. Peering over to Rhodey I allow my gaze to trail briefly over his leg braces- clearly designed by Tony- before my attention trails back up to Rhodey's expression. Offering me a small friendly smile, Rhodey greets "It's good to see you again Addie."
