"Nobody is going to win here!"
"You put me in this position Adeline!"
I run between Sam and Bucky, the three of us following the directions on the tarmac to hanger bay five. Rounding a couple of cargo shipments I notice the rest of our team running with Steve.
"Come on!" Steve encourages us urgently. Feeling Bucky's cool hand slip into mine I curl my fingers tight around his. To be fair that's where I should've been since attempting to get him out of Romania. Right by his side regardless of anyone's politics and regardless of what I wanted. Bucky and I are a unit. We stick together. Gripping his metal hand in mine I allow him to pull me along quickly as we flank Steve, both of us by his side as we make a break for the quinn jet.
However, our run is cut short when suddenly the fizzle of Vision's gem beams down before us burning a warning line into the tarmac. The only reason I stopped is because Bucky's hand hauls me into place, reacting before I do. "Captain Roger's" Vision's voice booms overhead, there rest of Tony's team assembling underneath him "I know you believe what you are doing is right. But for the collective good, you must surrender now."
It's then that what we're doing really sinks in; Rhodey, Natasha, Vision, T'Challa, Peter, Tony all lined up against us. Peering down our side, my gaze trails over them; Clint, Wanda, Scott, Sam, Steve, Bucky. Our team which was once united now facing each other off. My family at ends with each other. Fuelled by my desperation and resentment for what's happening I take a step closer to Tony only for Bucky's hand to yank me protectively back by his side. "Tony this is enough!" Watching his helmet retract I take a second to absorb Tony's bitter expression before motioning around "Are you seriously going to make me fight you?"
"If that's what it takes Adeline", Tony snaps just as pissed off by the predicament we've all found ourselves in as I "You chose your side-"
"THERE'S NO SIDES TONY!" I scream desperately at the top of my lungs. My voice breaking with hurt that he sees me as his enemy. The only thing stopping me from flying completely off the handle is Bucky's iron clad grip on my hand. "Nobody is going to win here!"
