"We need you Thor. We need you."
Munching on the burrito I picked up with Steve I walk a bit in front of Bruce as we head for the landing zone we've designated at the back of our headquarters. After the time travel incident of this morning we decided to pick up Mexican for lunch since Steve's stomach the most acclimated to my method of transport. Natasha has left to bring back Clint. I gave her his location in Tokyo and as I'd predicted she fired up the Quinn Jet and took off. Seeing Nebula stalk through the doors I offer her a kind smile. I only receive a single nod back but I'll take it. Just as Bruce and I step outside we see Rhodey's War Machine suit touch down with a clatter. Scott given the fright of his life practically throws his taco and gasps in surprise.
As Scott clutches his heart, Bruce poking me when I snicker at the unfortunate man, Rhodey comments "What's up to regular-sized man?"
As Rhodey wanders past us I call over my shoulder where Tony is before I continue towards the ship, giving Scott an empathetic look about his taco. Ignoring the kind way Bruce shares his own tacos, I take a bite from my burrito meeting Rocket inside his ship. This way it only takes us a couple of hours to reach the outskirts of New Asgard. At least that is what their settlement signs state as we pass it by in a utility truck. We'd left the ship a few yards away to no draw unwanted attention. Although when I remember I'm traveling with a giant green boulder and a talking raccoon I realise we probably should've just landed the ship.
The back of the utility truck scrapes into town, coming to a halt on a stone bridge. Glancing around as I jump from the back of the truck I let my gaze rack over the crashing waves pummelling the dock. New Asgard is somewhat of a fishing community. The paths filled with nets and the bay filled with dinghy's I can't help but wonder if they all actually enjoy living here. "Kind of a step down from the golden palaces and the magic hammers and what not", Rocket comments as he too leaps down from the back of the track.
As Bruce jumps off I raise my eyebrow at the way the truck bounces up, no longer dragging across the floor. As it drives off Bruce points out "Have a little compassion pal. First they lost Asgard then half their people. They're probably just happy to have a home."
