"I'm not living with a stranger", I try defending myself against Jackson's accusations. Although to be fair he's not entirely wrong on the case he's trying to make. It's been two weeks since Bucky's begun living with me and he hasn't spoken a word. Hell, he's barely come out of his room. I'm beginning to wonder if it's become his safe zone or safe place. With him hidden away so much I hardly even notice he's in the apartment. I still leave the bowls and slip notes under the door for him but other than that I leave him be. I can't force him out of his shell. After seventy years with HYDRA and the mind wipes I think Bucky's allowed to remain in his shell as long as he damn well likes. He can set up shop there for all I care.

"He doesn't leave his room", Jackson stares, drying the glasses in the drying rack "You don't know what he's doing in there."

"Not a lot I can guess", I help myself to a couple of hot fries as they pass by and out the kitchen doors. "Besides, you know I can handle myself", I defend my current living situation to Jackson- not that I owe him any sort if explanation. When he hadn't received his clothes back he became suspicious. Rightfully so I suppose. I'd want my clothes back if I was him too but since I can't exactly go shopping with him because he doesn't leave the bedroom there isn't a lot I can work with.

With a roll of his eyes Jackson shakes his head. Continuing to wash the glasses in the kitchen's suddy sink "That isn't the problem. I know damn well you can take care of yourself- You've always made that abundantly crystal. You just don't know who you have under your roof Ad's."
