Comeback

I kept on telling myself that past is past. Ang nakaraan ay di na pwedeng balikan. Keep on anticipating for the future. Never stop moving on. Make your past as your lesson.

Life isn't about finding yourself, it is about creating it.

"I was once a victim of stupidity. My life was a roller coaster of mixed emotions." I told the reporter as I was heading inside my newly opened branch of my restaurant. "But I tried my best to moved on and look at me now!" I exclaimed at kitang kita ko kung paano bumaling ang mga mata ng mga bisita sa akin.

Nasa gitna ako habang maraming repoters ang nagkukumpulan sa akin. Binuksan ko kasi ngayon ang bagong branch ng aking restaurant and it's the 55th branch!

Hindi ko akalaing magagamit ko ang hilig ko sa pagluluto and it also turned out I'm good in handling business. Nevertheless, I have everything, career and children.

"Ano naman ang nararamdaman niyo Ms. Andrea gayung dito kayo sa Pilipinas nagpatayo ng inyong bagong branch?" Tanong ng isa sa mga reporter.

"Well, I'm happy of course. Dito ako sa Pilipinas lumaki at nagkaisip and I loved the environment here. And also I want my kids to experience Philippines since they were born and raised abroad." I answered. Images of my cute babies flashed inside my mind and I can't stop myself from smiling. How I missed them already.

Nagpaulan ng marami pang tanong ang mga reporter and I answered them as honestly as I could. Natapos lamang iyon ng magsalita ang emcee para sa i announce na magcu-cut na ng ribbon to officially open the restaurant.

"Now may I call on Ms. Gab Andrea dela Calzada for her remarks." Nagpalakpakan naman ang mga panauhin. Pumunta naman ako sa gitna kung saan mayroong maliit na stage doon.

My restaurant is not big but the ambiance is a mixture of filipino and foreign air. Maraming sikat na mga tao ang dumalo since my parents are part of them. Big and renowned.

I held the microphone as I staired at the big crowd infront of me. I could see familiar faces of actors and actresses, some politics and some forgotten friends.

"First of all I wanted to thank all of you for coming here. To my friends and my kids. I am so overwhelmed and honestly I don't know what to say. Masyadong matagal simula nung umalis ako ng Pilipinas and I am glad I'm back!" My words were followed by extreme claps.

Inikot ko ang aking mata sa mga taong nandito. Hindi tinatanggal ang ngiti. I saw my parents clapping together with the crowd and I could see how proud they are. Finally! I made them proud! Nakagawa man ng mali ay nagawa kong bumangon.

"I was a wreck back then. I am young and naive. I am broken." I uttered and the place silence.  "Alam kong hindi lingid sa kaalaman niyo kung bakit ako biglaang naglaho ng halos apat na taon. Thanks to the people who never gave me up." I said and bumaba na sa maliit na stage kung saan ako nagsasalita.

Pumunta ako sa table kung saan naroon ang aking mga magulang. They welcomed me with a heartwarming embrace. How I missed them.

"Thank you for coming 'my." I said.

"You're welcome anak." I saw tears forming on her eyes. "I am so proud of you. Sorry for the mistakes we've done." Dagdag pa niya.

Another arms embraced me from the back and I can't help but smile.

"Daddy."

"I missed you Gab. And I can't wait to see my grandchildren!" He exclaimed loudly. Narinig kung tumawa ng kaonti si mommy dahil sa sobrang excitement ni daddy
