* two weeks later*
The rest of the week was amazing and eventful. First, I gave Renee her jeweled picture frame and Cho's Wok (Chinese buffet place). She forgave me instantly, considering she hadn't eaten the entire day and Brenton was at his dying father's house. Second, Austin asked Lucy out on a date! Unfortunately, it's not until THIS Friday (it's Tuesday). He has a huge project going on his Uncle's ranch and wouldn't be back in town until late Wednesday night. Renee and I spent all last weekend (weekend after Austin asked Lucy out) trying to find Lucy a dress, shoes, makeup, and nail polish. We've been practicing the makeup and Renee and I argue over what shade to go with the dress. They are going to Manu's Luau and we thought a blue floral slit dress would look amazing on her. It goes with her eyes. Third, thanks to Lucy's erotic book that I stole, Evan and I have been experimenting new things in the bedroom.
Regretfully, Evan giving us both a week paid vacation only made things worst at the office. Bob has me working over time to make up for missing so much. It pisses Evan off because Bob let him have his usual 8 a.m to 4 p.m. and won't let him stay any longer. It's really bad considering that Evan and I now rarely see each other. All the days I'm off (which isn't many), he has to work and the days I have to work, he's off. Bob will stop at nothing to creative space between us.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Friday, May 26)The sound of my phone ringing woke me up this morning. I stretch out and yawn, grabbing my phone and sliding the green button across my screen.
"Yes?" I say tiredly.
"Well, good morning and Happy One Year Anniversary to you too, sleepy head." Evan says warmly through the phone, "Are you off today?"
"Yeah. Why?" Then it dawns on me, "OH SHIT ITS OUR ANNIVERSARY!"
I spring up from the bed and rush to my clothes racket, grabbing the first thing I see. I have NOTHING for Evan because Bob hasn't given me enough time to go out and find Evan something for or special day.
"Princess? Are you okay?" Evan says worriedly.
I pant as I quickly get dressed. "Yeah, Yeah! I'm just in a hurry!"
Evan half way moans. "I really wish you were here with me. Particularly, here on my desk. Better than seeing Seasha's flabby ass every time she bends over to get the printed papers."
I trip over my shoes, the phone falling to the ground. Pain surges through my ankle and I groan in pain. I hear Evan's worried voice scream through the phone. After checking my foot, I crawl over to my phone.
"I'm here." I sniff in pain.
"Baby, what happened?" Evan says firmly.
I let out a heavy sigh. "I just tripped over my damn shoes. My ankle hurts."
"Oh shit! Is it broken? Do I need to come and take you to the doctor?" The sound of Evan's briefcase snaps through the phone. He's already rushing to come save me.
"NO, NO! I'm fine. Really." I say as the pain dulls away, "We're still on for dinner tonight right?"
Evan lets out a shaky breath through the phone. "Yeah, I'm cooking."
"Good. Then now is a perfect time to tell me what you want." I say slyly, "Any present you want."
Evan chuckles. "You. Me. A quiet evening alone."
I chuckle. "That would be nice. But I have to give you something."
He's quiet for a minute or two. I begin to wonder if he had ended the call.
"All I truly want for this anniversary is to make you and myself happy." Oh, my God. He's always thinking about sex. "Wear something nice tonight, okay Princess?"
I smirk. "Would you prefer me to wear nothing?"
I can hear Evan's annoyed eye roll. "Just wear the dress you wore on our first date, okay? No sweatpants or overall shorts. Dress required."
Confused, I just nod my head. "Okay."
