Jace and Clary- Their Future

Family Outing

This weekend Jace and Clary decided they were going to take Elizabeth to explore New York. "Jace when do you want to leave?" Clary asked Jace while she was getting Elizabeth dressed in a white onzie that said 'Daddy's Little Girl' on it. "How about like one thirty after Elizabeth takes her nap!" Jace replied back. After Clary had finished getting the baby dressed she brought sweet baby Elizabeth over to Izzy's room. "Hey Izzy do you think that you could feed Elizabeth while I take a shower?" Clary asked Izzy. "Of course!" Izzy said with great enthusiasm.

After leaving Elizabeth with Isabelle, Clary felt relived that she had time to take a shower at her own pace. She was used to always being worried about Elizabeth, being a new mother and all, it felt good knowing that her child was in the hands of someone that she trusted very much. Clary took her time, knowing that Izzy loved being alone with Elizabeth, and she even had time to blow-dry her hair today. As Clary walked into her and Jace's bedroom she saw Jace sitting the bed. He was reading, of course, one of his favorite books, A Tale of Two Cities. Clary stood in the door frame and looked at Jace as his facial expressions changed as he read the paragraphs within his books. "Your reading that again?" Clary asked. Jace, not knowing she was there, quickly turned around to see who had been watching him, "How long have you been standing there? And yes I am" Clary smiled and went and sat next to him on the bed. "Not long. I just got out of the shower, Izzy is feeding Elizabeth so we can have a few minutes to ourselves" Clary said hugging Jace. He kissed her forehead and then hugged her back. "We should probably get ready for our little family outing today though" Clary said followed by a sigh. She enjoyed getting to spend time like this with Jace, non disturbed and loving. Jace nodded and got up from the bed. He then carefully pulled Clary off the bed and onto her feet knowing, that if he didn't she would never get up.

After Clary and Jace got dressed and ready they headed downstairs to kitchen to get their little girl. As they left the room Jace took Clary's hand in his own and smiled at her as they walked down the stairs. "Good Job!" They could hear Isabelle saying to Elizabeth as she feed her. They laughed as they entered the kitchen. "What?" Isabelle said to them when she heard them laughing, yet not taking her eyes off of Elizabeth. "We just know that someday you will make a good mother too!" Clary said giving Isabelle a hug and thanking her for taking care of Elizabeth. "Hey Alec and I were wondering-" She said but was soon cut off by, the one and only, Alec, "What was I wondering" Izzy grunted and continued, "Speak of the devil. But, as I was saying Alec and I were wondering if we could start calling her Lizzy. You know instead of saying Elizabeth all the time" Clary and Jace looked at each other. "Ya that's fine. I like it!" Jace said. He walked over to Elizabeth and pulled her out of her high chair. "How do you like it my little Lizzy?" He said to her as she giggled at the sound of Jace's voice.

"Alright! Are we ready?" Jace said. They were just about finished putting on their jackets and packing up their diaper bag as they walked out the door. They had to walk about a block before they could grab a cab, people might think it is kind of weird that they were catching a cab at an old abandoned house. Once they reached the 'Artopolis Expresso Cafe' they got a cab. "Where are we going to go?" Clary asked Jace once they got into the cab. Jace smiled down at her and kissed her forehead, "I thought that we could spend the day in Central Park. I didn't want to take her anywhere crazy, I thought it might upset her" This is was the new Jace. A loving father who did anything in the world that would make his daughter happy and, make her have the best life possible. What more could a little girl ask for in a father. "Sounds Perfect!" Clary says as they took off twoard Central park.

When they arrived the sight was amazing. Different shades of yellows and oranges were surrounding them. As they stepped out of the car LIzzy giggled. She must have loved all of the colors that were surrounding her. Jace took Clary's hand, "Ready?". She nodded and they headed down a path that took you straight through the park. Surrounding them children were playing and screaming while their parents had conversations. Then there was the live band that was playing jazz music, everyone was in a large circle around them dancing. It was a happy environment, a place to go if you want to be happy. But, one of the most beautiful places in the park was the arch of trees. It looked as if the scenery was copied out of a fairy tale. The orange and yellow leaves hovering over you, while they also fell to the ground.

"This is the perfect day, with my perfect family" Clary stated. They had gone over to one of the large patches of grass and were sitting there now. The grass, still a little bit wet from yesterdays rain shower, was shining as it reflected off the sun. Lizzy had fallen asleep in Jace's arms but, he had gently placed her back in her carriage. "We should probably head back to the Institute now," Jace said, "It's getting dark and Lizzy will be getting hungry" Clary nodded and started packing up all of their stuff. Within ten minutes they were walking out of the park and back into the busy streets on New York.

When Clary, Jace, and Elizabeth arrived back home Isabelle and Simon were sitting on the couch watching Castle. It was their favorite show to watch together. "Hey Iz! Hey Simon!" Clary said when they walked through the door. "Hey!" Isabelle called back in because Simon was to attached to Castle to pay any attention. Clary and Jace had brought Elizabeth back upstairs to put her to bed. Clary quickly changed her diaper and put on her pajamas before placing her in her crib. "Goodnight my sweet little Lizzy" Clary whispered. She then put her arms around Jace's waist as they watched their baby girl slowly drift off to sleep.
