Jace and Clary- Their Future

Massachusetts Mishap

It had been about six months since the Herondale's had moved to Massachusetts, and they were loving it. They were almost done unpacking and were done with boxes. Clary was now almost five months pregnant and they were getting more excited everyday. "That was the last of your things Lizzy!" Clary said as she threw the last empty box into the hallway. Lizzy's room looked the most put together; her clothes all organized and all of her toys were put away neatly. Clary sat down on Lizzy's bed to rest for a fe minutes, moving things take the energy right out of her. "I'm home!" They heard Jace yell followed by the closing of the front door. "Where are my girls?" He asked heading up the stairs. "In my room Daddy!" Lizzy answered.

When Jace entered the room he smiled and looked at Clary, "Are you okay sweetie?" He asked. She hand her head hanging between her shoulders and her hands on her knees. "Ya," She replied, "Just takes a lot out of me moving those boxes. I forgot what it was like." And she laughed. Jace held up his arms and walked over to her. "I told you not to lift them! I could of gotten them!" He said. "I know, but I wanted to help. I feel useless!" She answered. She was now close to tears because she felt bad. Jace quickly hugged her, "Hey it's okay. Shhhh. I just want to make it easier for you! Plus your not useless you've been carrying around our new child for the past five months!" That lightened her spirits.

"What do you want for lunch Lizzy?" Clary asked. But Lizzy was too busy at the counter reading her book. "Lizzy?" She asked again. "What Mommy?" She answered sternly. Clary and Jace had noticed that lately she seemed a bit more annoyed with them. Clary thinks it's because she knows that her and Jace will have to give the new baby more attention. "Elizabeth honey what did Daddy and I tell you?" Clary said looking at her. "Speak nicely, I'm sorry. Can I please have a peanut butter sandwich?" She replied. Clary smiled and nodded, and went on to making a peanut butter sandwich.

A few minutes later Jace came running in. He scared Clary so much that she dropped Lizzy sandwich and the plate broke into a hundred pieces. "What is it?" She cried. "It's Mayrse she called and said that there are about three dozen kuri lurking around not too far from here" Jace said. Clary was so stunned she didn't know what to say, "Well how does she know?" She finally said. Jace looked down at the floor and then back up at her. "Well she was around here making sure everything was okay...making sure nothing like this was going on when she found them. She was planning on surprising you guys tomorrow. I have to go help her" He said. Clary put her hand on her forehead and looked around the room. "Well um...okay. I'll have Lizzy go over to Ella's house next door and then we can go!" Clary said, "Lizzy go put on your coat and shoes" She nodded and ran out of the kitchen. "No. No way, your not coming! Your pregnant and we are not going to risk that Clary! You stay here and I will be back as soon as I can!" Jace said. She looked at him like he was crazy. She walked out of the kitchen and walked up the stairs leaving Jace alone.

"Clary! Clary!" Jace yelled as he ran up the stairs. He walked down the hallway and into his room. Clary was sitting on the bed zipping up her jacket and slipping on her boots. "I'm going to help and you can't stop me" She said and walked out of their bedroom. Jace followed. "Clary I'm not doing this because I don't want you there I'm doing this so you and the baby will be out of harms way!" He said. But it wasen't working. "Fine!" She said, "Lizzy come on" Lizzy grabbed Clary's hand and they walked out the door.

"Hi, Karen! I was wondering if Lizzy could come and play with Ella for a little while while Jace and I run an errand!" Clary asked when they arrived at their neighbors house. "Of course!" Karen said. Lizzy ran inside with Ella and Clary left. As soon as the door shut she pulled out her phone and called Magnus. It ringed twice before a voice on the other end said, "Clary?" She smirked and said, "Magnus I need your help! Portal here now"

Magnus was there within ten minuets. "What?" He asked after he shut the portal behind him. "I need you to take me to Jace and Mayrse and I need you there in case we need Alec and Isabelle for backup. Okay?" Clary said. "It's nice to see you too! And fine" He answered.

"What's going on?" He asked. Clary turned and looked at him. "Mayrse was here and checking if everything was alright when she discovered a group of about three dozen kuri lurking around. So now I have to have you take me because Jace wouldn't let me come because he said it was 'too risky' and I need to help! Got it?" She said. Magnus just nodded not wanting to get on her bad side at the time. "We're here!" He said when they pulled up. She could see Jace and Mayrse struggling to fend off the amount of kuri surrounding them. Their spider like bodies and poison dripping fangs creeps Clary out a bit but she knew she had to help them.

She jumped out of the car and got out of the car as fast as she could. She couldn't have had better timing. Jace was trying to get rid of one of the demons when one came behind him. Clary pulled out her seraph blade and killed it. Jace whirled around and stared at her. "How and why are you here?" Jace asked. Before she could answer Jace killed another kuri and turned back to look at her. "One Magnus and two, because I want to help" She said. He smiled and then started to kill more and more. Clary did the same. He was happy to be back out and fighting until he heard Clary scream and hear Magnus yell her name.

A million things raced through Jace's mind when she fell to the ground. But there was no time to loose. They had to get rid of the last three kuri and help Clary. Magnus was already at her side, her head laying in his lap, her body limp. "Go Jace!" Mayrse yelled, "I can finish this!" He didn't hesitate. He dropped his weapon and ran to her aid. He took her body from Magnus and held her in his arms. "Clary! Clary! Come on you have to wake up! I knew this was a bad idea!" He said gently rocking her and stroking her hair. "We have to get her back to the Institute! I can help her there!" Magnus said looking at her wound, "It looks like one of the kuri bit her and the poison will start spreading if we don't go soon!" Jace looked down at his wife's limp body and nodded his head.

Jace stayed with Clary while Magnus quickly filled in Mayrse with the situation. She stood there still nodding her head and then running to her car. Magnus came back over to Clary and Jace. "Your mom is going to take care of Lizzy while the three of us head back to the Institute!" Magnus said. It took a few minutes but he managed to open another portal. "Come on!" Magnus yelled and motioned for Jace to go through. He scooped up Clary and stepped through.

Good thing Jace had experience with portals because if he haden't he would have dropped Clary. They were in the infirmary and Jace laid Clary on the nearest bed. Magnus started gathering materials to help Clary. "Go get Alec and Isabelle!" He yelled toward Jace. "I'm not leaving her-" Jace started to protest. "If you want to help her go and get them!" Magnus said. Jace left and slammed the door behind him.

Jace entered the training room where Isabelle and Alec were talking/. "Jace!" Isabelle yelled happily, until she saw the tears in his eyes. "Jace, what's going on?" Isabelle asked. Alec looked at him with concern. "It's Clary we were-" He started and then they heard a high pitched scream come fro upstairs.

Jace was out of the training room as fast as he could. "What happened?" He asked. He looked at Magnus and then at Clary who was sitting on the bed looking over at him. "I got the poison out, she'll be fine" Magnus said. A few moments later Alec and Isabelle came running in, "Is she okay?" Isabelle asked. Clary nodded and smiled. "Magnus?" Alec said. Magnus walked over and gave Alec a quick kiss that made Alec blush. "Oh Clary I was so worried! Are you okay? Do you feel okay?" He asked kissing and hugging her. She took his face in her hands and smiled up at him, "I'm fine!" And kissed him one more time.

"Can we go home?" Clary asked. "Ya sure come on, Magnus said he could take us!" Jace answered and took her hand. "Thanks again for all you help Magnus! And you said the baby should be fine right?" She asked. He smiled, "If I am correct everything with the baby should be fine!" They said goodbye to everyone else and then stepped through onto the grass of their front yard.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Lizzy cried when they got home. "Hey honey!" Clary answered. She told them all about how her and Ella played with her brother Callum and played tag. "Clary I'm just so glad your okay!" Mayrse said when she left. And she was on her way.

"Well" Clary said, "Maybe next time I should listen to you!" And layed down on Jace's chest. He nodded and kissed her forehead. He smiled, "Just don't ever, EVER, scare me like that again Clarissa Herondale!"

I'm really excited because my parents told me that we are going to he Bahama's next week so maybe I'll try to get one more chapter up before I leave! Hope you liked this pretty eventful chapter!
