"Do you have everything?" Clary asked Jace while running from room to room. Elizabeth and Aiden were waiting downstairs for them to leave. They had hours of driving ahead of them.

"Ya. Let's go. I told Isabelle that we would be there by six!" Jace said. Clary took one more look around the house before heading out to the car. Jace was on his phone talking to one of his clients, Elizabeth was watching a movie, and Aiden was already asleep.

They pulled out of the long driveway and drove down their street. Kids were outside playing and parents were sitting on their porches talking. The Herondale's were going to New York! For multiple reasons. First, to see all of the family. Second, To see the new baby Avery Lewis, and for Lizzy to have her first training session. Jace was probably more excited then Lizzy.

"Mommy are we there yet?" Was the question of the trip. And every time Clary replied, "No" Aiden would let out a small giggle. They had to pull over at least five times on the way. The ride seemed like it would never end. That was until they reached the sign that read Welcome to New York!  Lizzy whispered it to herself and then proceeded to tell Aiden.

The last hour was full of Lizzy talking about how she was going to train with Jace and Alec and of Jace telling her how amazing she was going to do.

As they drove through the city Aiden pointed out all of the bill-boards and would say some kind of nonsense that nobody could understand, because after all he was still a baby. When they were about five minutes away Clary got a call of Isabelle. When she picked up she could hear Izzy yelling at Simon to go and get the Avery for when they arrived at the Institute.

"Where are you?" She asked Clary sounding very anxious.

"Pulling in right-" She was cut off.

"OH MY GOD!! I see you pulling in!" And with that Isabelle hung up and came running out the door. She ran down the steps and scooped Lizzy into her arms. She then placed her back down and repeated the same thing with Aiden.

She looked at Jace and then burst into laughter. Her dark brown eyes filled with happiness as she hugged Jace. Clary stood holding Aiden when she asked, "And where is your baby and your baby's daddy?"

As if on Que Simon walked down the stairs holding a small baby in a blue blanket in his arms. Clary couldn't help herself from letting out a few tears. She handed Aiden over to Isabelle and walked over to see Simon and Avery. The baby had light brown eyes just like Simon and jet black hair like a true Lightwood. Simon took his free arm and squeezed Clary. She nuzzled her head into his chest and said, "You are going to be amazing parents!" As she wiped a tear from her eyes.

"C'mon let's go inside!" Isabelle said. She now had Avery in her arms so she could give Simon a chance to see everyone and help Jace bring in the bags. Walking into the Institute brought back good memories. Getting married, having Lizzy, and of course, her first kiss with Jace.

Jace stood next her thinking the same thing. He walked next to her a kissed her on the forehead. He grabbed her hand and they walked into the library where Mayrse was waiting for them.

"Jace! Clary!" She said when they entered. She gave them all a quick squeeze and then went back to her seat on the couch except this time with Aiden sitting on her lap. They all caught up and talked about Simon and Izzy's new life as parents.

"Hey Izzy do you mind just hanging out with Lizzy and Aiden for a little bit? There was something I wanted to do with Clary." Jace said. Clary had a confused look on her face, wondering what exactly Jace had in mind.

"Of course!" She replied and then continued talking to Lizzy.

Jace grabbed Clary's hand and pulled her out of the room. They walked quickly down the hall and up the stairs. That's when Clary realized where they were going. The greenhouse. The plants were bloomed and the night made it light up beautifully. The memories flooded into their minds. Clary's sixteenth birthday, their first kiss, and Clary's favorite, the day Jace asked her to marry her.

She remembered him getting down on one knee and reciting her full name. His hands trembling as he held up the beautiful ring. She looked down at her finger and there it was. She remembered that day like it was yesterday.

"I love you" Jace said taking both of her hands into his.

"I love you" Clary said and they sat on the small spiral staircase  remembering.

                                                                           * * *

Clary and Jace walked back downstairs smiling and laughing. They entered the kitchen where all the kids were eating dinner and the adults were standing and talking. But two new people were here, Alec and Magnus.

"Alec, where were you?" Jace said happily hugging his parabati

"I was with Magnus!" Alec replied back.

He was talking to Lizzy about their training day tomorrow with him and Jace starting to teach her the basics of Shadowhunting.

After dinner they all went to bed in their old rooms, Jace and Clary in Jace's room and Lizzy and Aiden in Clary's old room.

That night they all slept good and they all slept in. That never happened. Usually Lizzy or Aiden was up bright and early either asking for them to read them a story or for someone to change Aiden's diapers.

Clary woke up with her head on Jace's chest and Jace's arm around her opened her eyes and looked around no kids and no noise. It was like being back home made everyone sleep the latest they had slept in months. Then they were back in reality.

Lizzy came bursting in the door and ran over to Jace. "C'mon daddy! We have to go! Uncle Alec is waiting!"

Jace shot up and stretched out. "Uncle Alec is already waiting?" He asked. Lizzy nodded and then ran out of the room.

Jace got up and went into the bathroom. When he opened the door again he had his hair fixed and had brushed his teeth. Now instead of wearing his pajamas he was wearing his gear. Clary haden't seen him wear that in a while. He kissed her on the cheek and then left the room to go and catch up with Alec and Lizzy.

When he got to the training room Alec and Lizzy were already stretching. Jace gave Lizzy a good morning kiss on the head and then went over to stretch with them. While they stretched they talked and they laughed until Alec and Jace got serious. They taught her to draw the standard runes such as an iratze or strength. After a while they let her take a break from that and they tried something physical.

They let her try and attack them as if she were trying to fight them. Jace and Alec soon learned that Lizzy was a lot tougher than she looked. She fought well and was very good at deflecting shots that came her way. Everyone had always known that Lizzy was just like Jace, but they realize just how much.

After a days worth of work they went back downstairs. Lizzy told everyone what she did and how she beat up Alec when they fought. Everyone was so proud, especially Jace, of their little girl.
