Jace and Clary- Their Future

Fourth of July

The warm summer air blew Clary's hair in the wind as she stood on the porch with a steaming cup of coffee in her hands. It reminded her of the times before she was introduced into the Shadowhunter world, before she met Jace, sitting in Java Jones with Simon. She missed him. They haden't seen each other in almost six months. 

"Good Morning!" Jace said to her when he opened the door and walked out onto the porch to meet her. Aiden was in his arms and Lizzy was by his side. They were all still in their pjamas with their bedheads. Lizzy went and ran onto the swingset and Clary took Aiden. She sat on the porch swing beside Jace and tucked her legs underneath herself. She looked down into his green eyes and kissed his forehead. 

"You were up early this morning," Jace said, "Like me early" She laughed and looked over her shoulder to look at Jace. Ya I just couldn't sleep." She answered. Not adding in the fact that the real reasin she was up was because she was thinking about Simon and her parents and how much she missed them all. 

They sat outside for another hour before they went inside to get dressed for the day. Clary got Lizzy changed while Jace changed Aiden's diaper and put him in a new, blue and white, striped onsie. 

As her and Jace were getting Jace she had an idea. A way for her to see all her friends and family. "Hey Jace?" She said. "How about having a fourth of July party?" She asked. He finished pulling his tee shirt over his head and crossed his arms. "Sure!" He answered. 

                                                              TWO WEEKS LATER

"Do you have all of the decorations up?" Clary yelled to Jace and Luke from the kitchen where her and Jocelyn were cooking. They had made a huge fruit salad and more red, white, and blue cookies than Clary could ever count. Clary was glad her mom was there to help because she could have never prepared all of this food herself. 

Just as she put a batch of brownies the doorbell rang. She turned around and threw her oven mits onto the ground next to her. Jocelyn smiled as she watched Clary run out of the kitchen and to the door.

When she got to the door she flung the door open and there stood Simon, Isabelle, Magnus, and Alec. Simon she thought. She threw herself into his arms and huged him as tightly as she could. Tears welled in her eyes and Simon lifted her off the ground. 

"I missed you Fray!" He said. She finally let go and gave Alec and Izzy and Magnus each a tight squeeze. Jace came next and hugged Isabelle and Alec followed by shaking Simon's hand. Clary dragged Simon into the kitchen to see Aiden again he had only seen him once before. 

Simon held him in his arms and rocked him gently back and fourth. A few minutes later Isabelle came in and stood next to Simon gently cupping Aiden's head with her hand and kissing his forehead. 

"You guys look good with a baby!" Clary said to Isabelle and Simon. They laughed and Isabelle spoke up. "Speaking of babies Simon and I have some news for you guys!" She said. Simon looked down at Isabelle and smiled. "I'm pregnant!" She said and looked at them. 

Jace who was drinking some water chocked on it and looked up at her. Clary and Jocelyn gasped and ran over to give them both hugs and congragulate them. Jace then walked up to Isabelle and said, "Hey..Um..Congrats. You guys will be great parents, especially you Isabelle!" And gave Simon a sarcastic smile. 

Over the next hour all of the neighbors and friends from work came in. The party was in the backyard in the big yard. Outside there was smoke rising from the grill where Jace and Alec were cooking hamburgers and hotdogs. At the drink table Magnus and Jocelyn were handing out punch to the guests and laughing at something, Happy laughter and voices filled the yard. The kids were running around playing tag and tripping on the wet grass from the hose they were sparying at each other and the occasional adult. And Aiden was  being passed around the crowd of women. 

"Hey there!" Clary said when she got over to the grill where Alec and Jace were. She handed them each a cup of punch and they all started talking and catching up. Alec said that he and Magnus had gone to France for a week last month and that he had trained a new Shadowhunter at the Institute who soon after went to Idris. 

Luke then interrrupted. "Excuse me," He yelled. "I wanted to let everyone know that the three girls here will be hosting a dance show for us in ten minutes in the front yard!" The girls twisted back and forth with shy looks on their faces. Of course he meant Lizzy, Ella, and their friend Laura. Clary looked at them and she saw her head inside with Magnus. That meant there was going to be sparkles involves. 

Soon enough everyone had head out into the front yard to see the show. They had Arianna Grande playing and Magnus introduced them. They came out with sparkles on their eyelids and all over their faces. Magnus had definetly gotten to them. 

The girls started pointing there toes in all directions and doing summer salts every other step they took. They ran through the crowd of people and spun more times than anyone could keep track of.

At the end they bowed and and ran to Magnus. People took pictures of them together and asked them for their 'autographs' to make them feel as if they were famous. 

When six o'clock rolled around everyone started to roll out, except for their family. They put the kids to bed an Simon read Lizzy her goodnight story. She loved it when Simon read to her. 

Simon came down the stairs and into the kitchen Clary was alone putting away leftovers. "Hey" Simon said. "Hey!" She replied. While they were alone Clary motioned for him to follow her onto the porch so they could spend some time just the two of them. 

They sat down on the front stairs and talked for what seemed like forever. They went from talking about their kids, and future children. 

"You ready?" Clary asked Simon. He sighed and looked up at the night sky. "I am. I always wanted to be a dead and I have the best wife I could have ever asked for. I have everything I could have asked for in life and more, so yes I think I am ready," He said. "And if I get out of line I have you to help me out!" He nuged Clary. She looked up and put her head on his shoulder. "Yes you do have me. I'll always be right here Simon. Whenever you need me" 

Hey guys! I know it's been a while and I'm really sorry. I've been sick and I've had a ton of schoolwork. We got huge projects on American Legends and I'm kinda of freaking out about it. Anyway I have recently just finished the last book in the Maze Runner series, The Death Cure, and it was really good. Have any of you ever read that? Also I published a new story anout two weeks ago.
