Jace and Clary- Their Future

A New Addition

Today the sun was shining bright in the sky. Birds were chirping in nearby trees and everything was peaceful. Clary was in the backyard with Aiden pushing him on the swing set and enjoying the beautiful weather, and at exactly two thirty five on the dot Lizzy's bus came to a stop in front of their home. Lizzy was last to get off and came running into Clary's arms.

"Mommy!" She said as she squeezed Clary as tight as she could. "Today Oliver and I painted! But nobody knew what my drawing was." She told Clary.

"Well come inside and show me!" Clary replied, eager to find out exactly what mysterious object Lizzy was drawing.

Inside Clary and Lizzy went into the kitchen to look at the painting. While Clary waited for Lizzy to get the painting for her she cut up a apple for Lizzy with a side of peanut butter. When she turned around to hand Lizzy the snack she suddenly realized why nobody knew what her drawing was.

It was the symbol that for so many years her mother tried to hide from her. The sign that symbolized Shadowhunters, the angelic rune. Not that Clary and Jace were like her mother and trying to keep her from the shadowhunting world it just brought back very important memories to Clary.

"It's beautiful!" Clary said and kissed Lizzy on the forehead. "In fact I think it's so beautiful that we should hang it up in the house! C'mon let's go to the store and buy a frame before daddy comes home!" She added.

For two reasons this made Clary happy. The first was that she shared something that Clary and her mother also shared. Art. And the second was that she was becoming a true shadowhunter.

Clary quickly grabbed Aiden from his room and they headed to the store. All the way there Clary listened to the sound of the Little Einstein's playing in the back seat of the car.

Fifteen minutes and a Little Einstein's episode later Clary and the kids pulled into a nearby target. They all got out of the car and into the store.

Inside they walked up and down at lest ten aisles before Lizzy picked out the framed she wanted, it was also the first frame she picked out a half hour before.

As they went to check out Clary heard Lizzy squeal, "Oliver!!". It was Lizzy's best friend from school. She ran up to him and hugged him as he exited the store.

When they were back at the car Aiden started crying in the back seat. But it seemed that Lizzy telling Aiden cheesy knock-knock jokes made him happy.

When they returned Jace's car was in the driveway. Aiden clapped his hands and Lizzy bounced in her seat.

When inside they heard a strange whimpering sound coming from the kitchen. Clary walked in while Lizzy and Aiden took their shoes and jackets off to see what was going on.

She walked in and Jace was sitting criss-crossed on the floor.

"Jace? What are you doing?" Clary asked leaning up against the door frame.

"By the angel! I didn't even hear you guys come in!" Jace said. "I got a surprise!"

He slowly moved away from the spot he was sitting in to reveal a small white dog. It had ice blue eyes, and a gray nose and paws.

"Jace! You got a dog!" Clary said. "A husky. We talked about it but you said you didn't want one. Why change your mind now?"

"That's the point! I said I didn't want one so I could surprise you just like this!" He replied.

"He's adorable!" Clary walked over and gave him a kiss. "I have to go get the kids!"

She quickly exited the room and went into the playroom where Lizzy and Aiden were playing with Jenga blocks.

"Hey guys Daddy got a present for you and it's waiting in the kitchen!" Clary said. She lifted Aiden off the ground and took Lizzy hand to lead them into the kitchen.

The second they walked in Lizzy screamed, "YOU GOT US A PUPPY?!?" and proceeded to run over and pet him. He nicely sat and allowed Lizzy to get to know him. Aiden was a bit leary at first to pet him, but quickly warmed up and was soon enough playing with him.

"Now guys," Jace said. "We have to give our new addition a name!"

"Ice crewm!" Aiden said.

"I don't think so sweetie." Clary replied.

"Max, Will, Duncan..." Jace asked, but was cut off from when Lizzy gave an idea.

"What about Percy? I loveeee Percy!" She said in a very serious tone.

Clary and Jace looked at each other and agreed.

"I think that sounds great! What do you think Aiden?" Clary asked smiling. Aiden smiled back and nodded his head. "Percy it is then!"

For the rest of the night they were in and out of the house. Taking out the dog, playing with him, and then letting him sleep. He was energetic and sweet, which was perfect for the Herondale's.

Lizzy told Clary and Jace all night about how excited she was to tell everybody at school about Percy and about how cute he was. She even made Jace take pictures and then print them out so that she could bring them in and show everyone!

"Alright time for bed!" Jace said at about eight fifteen. They all said goodnight to Percy and proceeded to put him in his cage.

When they went upstairs they got into pajamas and Jace tucked everyone in.

"Daddy?" Lizzy asked right as Jace was about to turn off the light. He walked over a tool a seat on her bed.

"Yes sweetie?" He asked.

"Thank you for getting us Percy. He's so cute! I love you so much" She said and gave him a big bear hug.

He smiled. "Your welcome Liz. I love you so so much!"

They went back and fourth for a few minutes about who loved who more until Lizzy looked like she was going to fall asleep in the middle of her sentence. He shut off the light and closed the door behind him.

He walked across the hall to his and Clary's room but she wasn't so he headed downstairs.

She was on the couch in the living room with Percy asleep on her lap.

"He's great right?" Jace said kneeling beside the couch next to her head.

"Yeah he is." She replied. "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too."

Jace lifted Percy off of Clary's lap and placed him back into his cage.

After Percy fell asleep Jace went back to do the same. Clary was already asleep and looked beautiful. Her red hair was spread across her pillow and her hands tucked under her pillow.

"You look like and angel to me Clary." Jace said and lied down next to her.

Hello everyone! How are you all doing! I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever I was having a writers block and couldn't decide what to write about, but my friend helped me come up with an idea. I am currently on a bus on a school trip with PPercynnabeth20owl. alir11
I may be able to get another chapter up by the end of the weekend but I'm not sure! I am currently reading I am Number Four and it is soooo good! I hope you enjoy the chapter and have a good weekend!
